Why not. I haven't seen one of these in a long time, and I personally really enjoy them.

My favorites. I left out those I have not heard, which is everything after Who Are You, which I plan to explore at a later date. So think of this as a ranking of the Keith Moon years. It has been ages since I last heard "The Who Sell Out" and "A Quick One", so those two could possibly be reversed. I have also not heard Isle of Wright. Live at Leeds and Who's Next could also be reversed depending on my mood.

1. Quadrophenia.
2. Who's Next
3. Live at Leeds
4. Tommy
5. The Who Sell Out
6. A Quick One
7. My Generation
8. Who Are You

Wrong Subform.

I came up with a few results when searching, so I assumed this was the correct, or at least acceptable, forum.

This could fit into this forum and the album review forum. So nitpicking is stupid.

The Who just happens to be one of my favorite bands, but they still have some really bad albums:

My Generation 7 out of 10 - Like many albums from '65 there are more covers than original songs, which makes the album not that good IMHO. The Pete Townshend songs are great. The covers are great, but I would like to have more Townshend or Entwhistle songs than covers... but all bands released albums this way. That being said, this still has My Generation on it, one of the best songs ever written and thus deserves being bought.

A Quick One - 8 out of 10 - Entwhistle and Townshend songs are great. Daltry and Moon songs not so much. And I hate "Heat Wave" cover.

The Who Sell Out - 9 of 10 - Wow, what diversity on this concept album. I could have done without "Hall of the Mountain King" which it seems every rock band did a cover of. The commercials kinds break things up a little too much, keeping it from being a perfect 10.

Magic Bus - 6 out of 10 - What the hell happened? Oh, the record company trying to make a buck. While Townshend is working on Tommy the record company releases this album. Some great tunes on here, but mostly this garbage should have stayed in the trash where The Who put it.

Tommy - 9 out of 10 - The Rock Opera is a acquired taste. The first time I heard it I didn't care for it. The opening numbers were great, but then the songs just kinda got tiring to listen to... until I made it through a couple of listens and fell in love with the concept of the album. If your just getting into The Who, don't start here, go with their next album which includes the Tommy album live.

Live At Leeds (Deluxe) 10 out of 10 - This album captures who The Who really are. While the album was released like Magic Bus, as an interim until Townshend got the next record done, the record company didn't screw this one up. Easily the best live recording ever released.

Who's Next - 10 out of 10 - This synthed up album is the best of the studio albums. Part of a concept album Townshend was working on that he scrapped, this keeps the best songs and gets rid of the fluff.

Quadrophenia - 10 out of 10 - This album is better than Tommy, but doesn't get the accolades of that one because concept albums are passe by time this one hits the market. But, this one is a great listen and you can't go wrong with buying it.

The Who By Numbers - 7 out of 10 - This one just doesn't hold up. The songs are about Pete's life and are a little dark but Daltry sings them like they are spirituals. I just find the album hard to like.

Who Are You - 8 of 10 - Moon's last, but really the previous album was Moon's last. Moon was so out of it for this album Pete removed the drums from the song "Music Must Change" because Moon was not able to play what was written for him. Its still my favorite song on the album, but its weird not hearing Moon's thrashing sound. The first song, however, tells me that Pete was just tired. "New Song's” lyrics are, "I write the same old song with a few new lines And everybody wants to cheer it" just tells me Pete was about burned out.

Face Dances - 6 of 10 - Not a bad album. Not that great either. Now, not only are they tired, but without Moon the songs seem lifeless.

Its Hard - 4 out of 10 - What crap this album ended up being. The only song I even like from this album is "Eminence Front". Glad its on Rock Band, but other than that song, don't waste your money.

Endless Wire - 6 out of 10 - There are some highlights here, but mostly the music is boring. The aging rockers no longer know how to rock. Listless music.
