The other day i turned my console off along with the drums.
the next day when I turned the drums on they hardly work for about 20 seconds so I turned them off then turned it back on again.

The pads completely dont work anymore, no response.
The buttons and the base pedal works but not the four pads or the cymbals.

Is there anyway besides buying a new set that I can fix them?
(My warranty is up)

Thanks for the help.

I have exactly the same problem.

My son and I were playing and during the middle of a setlist, the batteries on the drums died. We replaced them with new batteries and proceeded to turn them on. Started to finish the setlist only to find that the drums weren't working.

After checking things out, we discovered that for no reason the pads and cymbals no longer work but, just like you, the power button, directional pad, and all buttons on the controller work, as well as the drum pedal, but none of the pads or cymbals.

I don't have a workaround... luckily I had two days left on my warranty so I RMA'd them. Just got the box to send them back in today.

I find it funny that the Rock Band 2 game information page says the instruments are "more durable"... HA! I'm still using both my original guitar and drums from RB1... had RB2 drums less than 60 days and they have already crapped out... from changing the batteries no less!?!?!?

yeah I know its rediculous.
the warranty policy is stupid i mean its not like its my fault obviously because if i hit the pads to hard (which should cause any problems, they are DRUMS) they would stop working gradually over time, not all at once.

So I dont care about stupid warranty because now I have to go and buy another 70 dollar kit.
