Edited out. Please don't try to circumvent profanity filters. They're here for a reason. Thanks!

What is Guitar Hero III. Is it anything like Rock Band.

It's a game where you use your imagination, you pretend like you're strumming and playing a real guitar and although nothing comes out you still don't feel that sense of accomplishment.

So then would you say Rock Band is 3x the waste because not only is it pretending to play the guitar, but Bass, Drums and Vocals?

No, because with RB you actaully HAVE a since of accomplishment.

I really don't care for anything new for GHIII. If its free, then I'll get it. But after my dissapointment with the Velvet Revolver pack and the Foo Fighters pack, I don't want anything new from Nevergood.

I really takened a likening to She Builds Quick Machines on the radio, and the note chart just made it a horrible experience for me.

GH3 hasn't added anything to PS3 DLC since the Foo Fighter and Velvet Revolver packs. Don't expect weekly DLC for them for any system.

Umm when you pick up a mic and sing into, thats not pretending your really singing.

In that same regard; banging on drums = really banging on drums. Drums is a little more of a grey area though because of the visual cue, but its atleast much closer to the real thing that plastic guitars with 5 buttons.

How are you pretending to play the vocals and the drums. The drums are pretty well done. Singing in a mic is singing in a mic.

they make tabs for drums I don't see how RB is all that different.

I find it comical that people still argue over RB or GH 2/3. I mean really, each has their own respective merits. They really aren't that comparable, despite the fact they are both rhythm games. The focus of the two are much different and as such they probably shouldn't be outright compared against each other.

The community "feel" of RB is definitely the attraction of the game. You can get with a group of people and get that "band" feeling. It's an awesome party game and gets a lot of people involved. The DLC so far has been superb (even if you don't like the songs, for only being out a couple weeks there's a lot of DLC). Not to mention that you get to play the drums / vocals and change it up a bit.

Still though, GH has fantastic music, is great for single player, and is definitely more technically challenging for guitar. I find GH to be my game of choice if I want to be really challenged at a song. Plus, if I dont' feel like being online, there are some GREAT tunes in the GH series (Hangar 18, Arterial Black, etc, etc, etc).

So truly, there's no point in bashing either. I can understand if the game doesn't appeal to someone; however, outright saying one or the other "sucks" is a litlte extreme.

Of all things there was GH 2 DLC. Dropkick Murphys too. :( If it was for GH 3 at least I could've got it in 6 weeks on the PS3.

Sure they're comparable.

One is fun and completely playable.

The other sucks all that is good and right in the world out, and leaves you with an empty, hollowed feeling.

I have a feeling we will be getting some Rush DLC soon for GH3.
