My disc has twice been called Unreadable by my 360. The support site doesnt say anything about the disc. The phone number is not toll free. I don't want to return the entire bundle for a new disc. Help me?

Is it scratched up or anything? Also, is the whole disc one solid color, or does it look darker in some areas? My 360 screwed over my copy of NCAA Football 08 the first day i got it (and i also got 3 RRoD) and it was darker around the middle. Exchanged it for a new one and it was fine then. One last thing, will your 360 read other games/dvds/cds?

Your disc drive might be about to take a big dump. I too am having this problem.

I've had it now and again on various other games but it's made Rock Band almost unplayable. I've got my coffin on the way and its finally time to get my poor 360 fixed...

Does this happen when you are playing DLC or any time?

A guy here was having problems but only when he was playing DLC and just replaced the game and it works fine now.

Mine did this once in about 72 hrs of gaming(it was inside the first 12 hrs tho)...i was doing some crazy button mushin trying to get out of a tattoo creation screen and it locked up giving me the unreadable disk message.

Never had a problem with NCAA 08 at all, I know a bunch of folks did tho and i figured i was lucky for that.

Heres to hoping it'll go away :)

Mine does this too. I just keep ejecting it and putting it back in. It works after a few tries, and stays working until I turn the game off.

It rarely says the disk is dirty. What it does instead is pop up to a screen that I believe is used if you put a 360 game in a DVD player. It takes a few tries for the console to figure out it's not a DVD. This and The Darkness are the only disks I have that give me this problem.

No DLC.
Disc looks perfect.
Games I played a day or two before Rock Band work perfect.

Mine goes unreadable every once in a while too. Can I just take the disc back, or does it have to be the whole thing?

Pick up your disk and go up to a light....shine it in all directions looking at the bottom. Do you see a semi circle haze going with the rings of the disc? Disc tray does this. Apparently the Xbox 360 spins so fast, it can scratch up the disc perfectly without even moving the box just because of vibration.

Goto Walmart, and go get a Memorex moterized cleaning kit. Do the "Repair" on it 3 or 4 times and wa-la, fixed.

This happened to my Assassin's Creed disc, and Gamestop wouldn't take it back. I'd get the unreadable also randomly.

my disc became unreadable. I took a look at the disc and noticed a big scratch ring and then my sister told me my xbox 360 fell over when she was playing and scratched the disc up. I got it fixed for $2 and it works like its new.

I was having this problem the other day, I kept getting DREs when trying to load certain songs that worked perfectly fine the day before. There weren't any scratches on the disc so I tried clearing the cache and now everything works perfectly. To clear your HD cache, goto memory in the system blade. Select your hard drive and press Y. Then when the info screen comes up push X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X. A message should come up asking if you want to go through with the procedure.

After clearing it, see if that fixes the issue.

Usually,( from my exp) when you start to get disc read errors ,it's either a badly damaged disc or your optical lens is going.I found some discs work ok but then others start to fail.Sooner or later it will not read any disc (if it's the lens).

If you know how to clean the lens you can temporarily stop this.I had the same prob on the ps2 (I know ps2 and 360 are different) but I was able to pull take the case off the ps2 and get into the disc area and clean the optical lens with a dry q-tip.Try a disc cleaner first befor you try anything eles.

If you have a 360 with a warrenty then I wouldn't try getting to the optical lens.
