"Nightmare": homage or ripoff?

This song made me really mad. I don't know whether these "kids" are tipping their cap or stealing riffs.

What's with the dumbed-down riff of the one from Iron Maiden's Wasted Years?
It even plays on the title screen. Argh!

Harmonix, please don't let the inclusion of this song affect the potential to have Wasted Years as DLC. I've been screaming for Wasted Years ever since Marcus Henderson teased us with the possibility of it being in a GH game and if "Nightmare" keeps it from being considered because the main riff sounds too similar (even though it's the original source), it would be incredibly disappointing.

...I've heard there's also a riff from another metal song used in it, but I'm not familiar with it.

What about Pleasure (Pleasure) by Bang Camaro.....that whole song is just a bunch of Def Leppard riffs put together. It's like Pyromania and Hysteria had a child...a child with 5 instruments and 20 singers!!

That being said, it's a pretty awesome track though!

Bands steal riffs all the time. And not just the indies. Stairway to Heaven is just a bunch of folk songs torn and stapled together.

I think Bang Camaro rips off/pays homage to Kiss. Even the same sort of lyrics.
