So I bought a (relatively) cheap underwater camera off ebay last week. Went snorkeling at my local reef and gave it a try out, wasn't too bad.
It was a little wavy, and I don't have any fins yet so trying to take a photo on full zoom when you can barely see the LCD screen and waves are pushing you around is kinda hard... Still, some photo's came out alright.

That's really cool. I'd love to go scuba diving sometime...though living in KY makes that hard to do. Awesome photos, especially the first and last ones.

Actually I understand Kentucky has some great freshwater lakes for SCUBA diving.
I only done one dive on a [real] reef, but that was probably the greatest vacation I ever had. :D
Also, if you happen to find yourself in Disney World and you're SCUBA Certified, be sure to check out the diving opportunity in the Living Seas Aquarium (the one the Finding Nemo ride goes through now) in Epcot. Great chance to be part of the attraction; the best part of the dive is showing off for the people on the other side of the glass. :D

I have a few friends that are avid snorkelers, but I'm far too terrified of the water to try it myself even though from everyone's pictures it looks so beautiful.
They've told me that you can hold out a peeled banana and fish will come and eat it from your hands, which sounds kind of cool.

I can do you one better. We took a milk jug full of anchovies down and fed them to a very large Moray Eel. That was one of my first dives though, so I didn't get to stick around when they did that; I was so nervous I'd gulped down most of my air and had to head back to the boat.

I was thinkin about trying too feed the fish. It might get too crazy though. Those first couple of pics on my first post were taken with no zoom on, there's fish everywhere, one of them swam right into my mask and freaked the crap outta me.

I love snorkling. Never tried scuba diving since it kind of scares me (a friend's dad popped a lung while scuba diving).

I had a "waterproof" disposable camera, but when they went to develop the film, they discovered it was water-damaged. ****ing Kodak.

They did manage to rescue two pictures out of it, but they were just blank blue shots where you couldn't see anything through the water. Methinks they just put a normal disposable in a fancy plastic case to see who would be stupid enough to buy it.
