I have read the interview with MTV (http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/10/16/rock-band-2-wii-answers/)stating that "Nintendo doesn’t allow multiple versions of the same content" in their store, but this statement isn't 100% true. SquareEnix was allowed to have multiple versions of DLC in their WiiWare game.
Specifically, they had 3 seperate addons that could be bought individually, or purchased as a one package for 100 points less. Here is a link to their site showing the DLC (http://na.square-enix.com/mylifeasaking/addon_list.html). You will notice that the "Triple Race Pack" is the same content as the 3 packs below it all rolled into one.
I do not claim to know Nintendo's policy towards 3rd party content, so I can't say who is wrong here. Maybe Nintendo did a favor for SquareEnix? Maybe SquareEnix stores their content on their own servers? I don't know. All I do know is that statement isn't completely true.
I love the game regardless, but please help a brother out. I'm hurting for cash!
