According to a supervisor at EA (yes, in the BAY AREA, not NEW ENGLAND), UPS had to send a special truck today to accept the load. So, hopefully we'll see some status changes on the tracking numbers sometime tonight or tomorrow morning. That "delay" that people talk about is not very common, and especially when its comes to a shipping center thats able to accept 4,000 pieces from one customer (EA warehouse).

I worked for UPS...4000 pieces is nothing, QVC the home shopping joint sends millions a week and they show up on tracking.....nice EA excuses.

Jekyll - They also are saying that they should be done with their backlog by the end of the week. Sounds like BS, but hopefully its true and people who originally requested replacements might get them by next week....
Hyde - Holy ****, another week? thats horse****, why did my neighbor already get their guitar, why the hell is this taking so long, why am i not rocking to 11...
Jekyll - Hopefully though, we'll have our guitars back before finals week (for the college students that visit this forum)
Hyde - God damnit, finals.. holy ****, why did EA have to screw this up, why the hell am i calling a northern california number (650) for support thats based in NE. Everyone knows that New England (TOM BRADY) is the epic failure of the north east.
Jekyll AND hyde - NOTE: if you can't tell already i'm rather bored. I SHOULD be rocking harder than evAR right now. thank god for online play, too bad i cant talk to anyone using my damn headset.... stupid non working headset adapters... RAWR!!!

i dont think 50,000 guitars are broken...... also, 4,000 might not be a lot but during holiday season, they are probably getting millions. I talked to UPS who said they are not updating their site till evening or even early morning because "Our website is not a priority, but getting the packages to the customers on time." The reason it took so long is not UPS's fault because they got the packages for the most part today. Im fairly sure they have most of yours.

im not blaming UPS for any of it. Frankly, the tracking number doesnt matter to me. I'm just tired of support saying "oh, it went out today". i know 4,000 isnt alot, but its a start... and not everyone's equipment is broken yet.... (keyword: yet)

Knowing a thing or two about the intarwebs...I can assure you, as others have posted, that the website is an interface to an internal system used to track the location of shipments for UPS use. The infrastructure was probably in place long before their website showed up to the minute tracking information.
That said, all of this is automated, and if there's a problem, it's a database or website administrator that is fixing it, not your local UPS truck driver.
That said, "the website isn't a priority, getting packages delivered on time" is akin to your power company saying "processing your payment isn't as important as fixing those downed power lines".
