On my third set now and I'm starting to get ticked. Yellow pad still goes to crap after about a week on the first two, now the blue pad is f ing up on number 3. Luckily I just go back to Wal Mart and return it for another one.
$170 for crap that wont work for more than a week is not good!!!!
and they all had diff manufacturing dates.

Dude you are not supposed to return it to Walmart. You are supposed to contact EA customer support and get the good replacements.

I don't know for sure but it sounds like you are treating a toy like an actual electronic drum. It's only like a $3,000 difference, but can you really expect to bang on one the same as the other? Like I say, I'm not there but I'm having a great time with mine although admittedly not reaching expert for some real abuse.

No, you can beat on them, that's not the issue.
The issue is that it's most likely that you're getting "bad sets" by returning them to Wal-Mart. Do the warranty replacement, get a good one.

The announcement today was that there were production issues with some of the hardware in stores. If you returned it like you were supposedto, you likely wouldn't have had a problem.
You also ruined 2 other people's Christmases :(

How did he ruin 2 peoples christmas?? The items he returned to the store are going to be shipped back, because they are faulty. Also, he saved two other people from having to go through returning their faulty equipment!!
I would have returned my stuff too, but they had none left in stock. So, I am still waiting a week later and still haven't gotten to play the drums.

no, the ruined Christmases would have been parents getting those boxes for their kids, not opening them until xmas, and having their kids cry cuz their game is broke.
I am sure there will be another rush of returns the day after xmas, but it may not happen due to young kids and the parents lack of visiting this forum, or other video game forums.
It may be bad for non-gaming parents and their faith in buying large video game related things in the future.
News shows tend to blow things up, and they aren't always informed on how things like this work, either. Think of all the people you know who don't game, and tell you that the 360 is junk, cuz they heard it on the news, or that halo 3 is junk, cuz they heard it on the news (when in fact the stories were about loose packaging, not faulty games)
I have sent my periphrials in for exchange, but in the future, next year, I will be using my 2 year replacement plan I purchased at Target.

Why can't you beat on them? I've never played drums I cannot beat on...how do I play them then? BTW not all electic kits cost $3000...I got a cheapo yamaha set for $700 and I beat the living daylights outta them as I do with the rockband ones...no issue's here. The breaking pedal issue is people who don't know how to properly use a kick drum pedal

If oyu returned it to EA you wouldn't have a drum set right now. I would have done the same thing you did and hoped for the best.

I opened my Rock Band the day it came out and I was supposed to save it until Christmas. But you know what? I returned today because I am almost sure that the second batch coming out from Amazon will be better.

Oh no, they only would have had two instruments instead of none. Guess I'm an optimist...

Set number #3 was a exchange from EA, forgot to mention that. It's the same crap set's as my first two. No changes at all. So it seems they are not fixing the problem but just sending out the surplus they have.
BTW I'm 37 and have played drums since about the age of 10. I know the differance between real and game. The point is $170 bucks should have better quality before it's mass released.
