I dunno.
That song tears me apart, though.

I gave up on it and started going through Expert anyway. I've passed 37/45 songs on Expert and I still can't beat RTTH on Hard. It's just an insanely hard song compared to everything else in the game. Definitely way tougher than Won't Get Fooled Again for me.

I can usually get farther and farther in attempts after spending time in practice mode, but I don't know if I'll ever even beat RTTH on Hard, let alone Expert.

My advice would be to go to practice and get use to the song and the speed. Slow it down and then speed it up once you get the hang of it. I pass RTTH with about a 95 to 98% maybe part of it is that I am a drummer in real life, but in this game that also has it's short comings. But if you slow it down in practice then you can visually see how the notes come at you.:)

In my opinion, RTTH is WAY harder on hard then on expert. When I was doing band tour and encountered RTTH and I was on hard, I couldn't beat it, but on expert I beat it on the first try. The rythm on hard is just much wierder.

Here's (http://rockband.scorehero.com/images/notecharts/rb/runtothehills_drums_hard.png) the note chart, if that helps at all.

For me, it's just a problem to play it because I have some LCD lag to account for. When it's in the super-repetitive patterns, and I lose my beat for just a second, it's almost impossible to get it back because the lag screws everything up.

I had the same problem. If you can do the rhythm fast enough, but you're still missing 30 to 40 percent of the notes, grip the drumsticks higher up. It's not very rock, but you get better control over the fast alternating hits with shorter drumsticks.

Get your triplets down well. It's key to getting all those red ones. Slowly speed it up in practice.

Like my math teacher always said.

The first time I beat it on hard, as soon as I got out of the intro and into the chorus (RRR RRY), I decided to ignore the pedal, and still passed. As a general rule, take it into practice, and learn to play one note at a time. Play just pedal until you have that down. Then add in Red. Then add in Yellow, etc etc.
