Ok...I just got off the phone with UPS. I have requested the second guitar just like everyother person in this country, unless you were a lucky son of a b**** who got a real-working strat. The agent told me my tracking number was for the receipt of the old guitar.

When you look at your UPS status, that tracking number is for when you send your broken guitar back! That is why you keep seeing that same status...you have not gotten your guitar sent to you yet and you have not sent the old one back...hence the billing information recevied message you keep receiving. Plus, they can't just associate a tracking number for the return of the old guitar without being able to have the new guitar shipped, it's highly unethcial to charge you $100 or whatever the hell it is, if you haven't gotten the new strat and a major company who wheels profits from fans wouldn't do that to its number one market.

I know it sucks and this is absolutely ridiculous but you all will receive your new guitar. There are about 700,000 people all asking for the same thing here folks, so we all have to deal with it. Yes, I am well aware that how EA does things is ******ed, but theres nothing that can be done about it. So just hang in there and beat the piss out of the drums or mic.

thats wrong, the tracking number is a requested return service. This means the new guitar, being shipped out to you and the old one being shipped back have the same tracking number. Thats why the people who already reveived their guitar could track it with their number

Oh my god, they don't charge you 100 dollars. It's a hold. Don't you people stay at hotels? This is common practice among bigger hotel chains.

it IS a charge if you used a debit card, which I am sure you know are fairly common.

Not everyone that bought Rock Band is the hotel staying at all the time type.

I'm sorry, I don't own a debit card. So since it is a charge, do you get the money back in the form of a refund?

They don't have to stay all the time if you stay at a hotel that costs more than 60 dollars a night it's a fairly common practice for them to hold a one night's stay on the credit card. And there are actually a lot of older people here than one might think.

EDIT: I wasn't exactly sure of all of the functions of a debit card since I don't own one, so I briefly looked it over. Apparently, holds can be put onto a debit card but for some reason places sometimes hold more than they would with a credit card. Maybe it's just the type of debit card you have but it says holds can be placed on them just like credit cards.

Thats what I thought. But the guy above me said it was a charge on debit cards. I'm aware of what a hold is when you rent a car or stay at a hotel and I know they don't physically take money from you.

Stop confusing me! lol.

I think there are a lot of older people here. Unfortunately, many may be like me and spend their money on large video game equipment and sacrificing vacations, and skipping business trips. LOL

A debit card in this situation would take the funds from your account, and put them in a pending status, which makes them unavailable to the card holder until the payment clears or is returned, so it would basically be $100 put on hold. If the $100 is unavailable, you will get overdraft fees ($28 a piece) for each and every charge coming after the overdraft.

I used a debit card, and when the page went up for repairs, it stated they would take a small pre-authorization fee to make sure the card is active. You may be aware of similar things. They are usually funny charges like 81 cents, or one dollar and 42 cents... etc... So I signed up for express return. When I went back to the same page, it was completely different wording and said that they would hold the $100. So you can imagine my freakin' out a bit when I only had $80 in my account.

I would like to add, that a call to EA fixed the problem and I was able to change my preference to get the empty box first. I was especially happy when EA called me back, as they speak better english when they are dialing the numbers. LOL

I meant to say the hold, not to necessarily charge you the 100 off the bat, my mistake.

Well then, so why didn't I get a tracking number for when they ship the stupid guitar?

It's cool. I've just gotten tired of ignorant people who think they got charged and only come onto this forum to complain. At least you followed up your post lol.

As far as the tracking number I have no idea how that works. I've seen threads where people got their guitar in two days, and some EA reps said early next week people will be getting them.

I can understand as I've worked as a customer service rep while going to college and they must be getting so fed up with people calling and asking for the same questions that you have a few people snapping and giving misinformation or just making things up because they don't know.

I think you are correct about customer service getting fed up and giving misinformation to get customers off ther back.

Those are the people that should be delivering pizzas. LOL
