Meatloaf should definitely be in the classic rock section, along with Queen. Other than that I like the list

Kansas is not Southern. It's Progressive. The same category that Rush and Pink Floyd are in. Those are my 2 suggestions btw. And it's a decent list, would be great without the Nu Metal. Keep SoaD though.

When you say older stuff by No Doubt, do you mean before Tragic Kingdom or including Tragic Kingdom?
Also, add Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers to the list as well.

They're progressive bands, but really now, progressive means to evolve, or something of that nature, and alot of bands have evolved and changed the face of music history, so I think progressive is a pretty broad term for artists.

Before Tragic Kingdom, duh. :p Though I admit some songs from there would be pretty fun.
And Foo Fighters and RHCP are already in RB, what's the use of suggesting them to HMX? :D

You definitely need some indie. The Von Bondies and the Long Blondes are the first that come to mind but of course there are TONS more out there. And of course great cover/parody/non-real bands like AC/DShe, Dethklok, Dread Zepplin, and The Beets.

Weezer is already in RB and you suggested them. Older RHCP stuff and some more Foo Fighters wouldn't hurt.

Oh shnaps, you're right, Weezer are in RB. I know it wouldn't hurt but seeing as they're already in there, and there are plenty of other bands that need to be mentioned, do we really need to do that?

I didn't think it was that obvious most people seem to like Tragic Kingdom, but then again Beacon Street Collection would be awesome to see. However, Tragic Kingdom is more likely sadly because no one but No Doubt fans know the stuff before Tragic Kingdom.
Oh, I didn't realize you wanted bands that were not in the game. Then, in that case add Primus and The Raconteurs(I would add The White Stripes but they have no bass) to the list.

Hah, I remember those guys. One of their songs were in a Crazy Taxi game, I think... Nevertheless, they're awesome. Added.

Progressive is also known as Prog Rock. Which has very few bands compared to punk and other sub-genres. Prog Rock is about not following the verse-chorus-verse-chorus-solo-verse-chorus pattern of rock which many bands follow. Thus it is as valid a genre as punk and alternative.
