So you're all probably doing something this Holiday season where you will be in good company, relaxing with friends and family, and will be looking for a good time. That's where Rockband comes in. I have a solid collection of Christmas music and it would be great to hear some of these tunes make it into Rockband. It's probably not possible to acquire the licenses and all that on such short notice but we can all hope for a Christmas miracle. A few off the top of my head:

The Ramones - Merry Christmas

A fun track (even despite it's festive affiliations) and, hey, there's already a Ramones track on there.

Viva Voce - God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

A really fuzzed out rendition of the Christmas classic done by my personal favorite band. They've done two others (Jolly Old St. Nicholas and What Child is This) but this is the one I feel has the most interesting tracks and would fit best into the game. It's a relatively obscure track if that has anything, negative or positive, to do with acquiring it.

Relient K - We Wish You a Merry Christmas

Relient K had a christmas EP way back when and just recently released the album all together under hilariously clever title 'Let it Snow Baby... Let it Reindeer.' There's a whole load of great Rockband worthy Holiday songs from Relient K. In fact, I'd also love:

Relient K - 12 Days of Christmas

I also would love '12 days of Christmas' despite how repetitive the song gets. There rendition has some clever little variants to the lyrics every so often and is actually really varied. The vocal track on this would be interesting.

Weezer - Christmas Song

An excellent song with all around great tracks. Oh, and Weezer also falls under the 'already in Rockband' category.

Fountains of Wayne - I want an Alien for Christmas

Is this song weird? Yeah. Would it make a fun Rockband song? Yeah.

I have yet to import my Christmas collection to my computer but there are several others that could apply. Plus, if you can think of any renditions of 'winter' or 'Hanukkah' songs than feel free to throw those into the mix too.

Anything done by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra would more than fit a Christmas pack
As well as
MxPx - Christmas Night of the Zombies
The Most Wonderful time of Year - InMemory
Cities Made of Snow - Brazil
Father Christmas - The Kinks

I think it would be very nice if Harmonix gave us a free three pack of Xmas sons as a gift. Would be nice.

Which is...not at all?

Christmas Wrapping - The Waitresses

And there's a great cover of The Little Drummer Boy by The Hoodoo Gurus. It's mostly instrumental, but it has some nifty "vocalizations" in it.

I want to sing "Mr. Grinch" in my very best baritone.

A Funk Rock cover of that song would be better than anything.

Are you serious?

They should get that whole entire Twisted Sister CD that has all Christmas songs. About all those songs are perfect for RB.

Actually I'm gonna backpedal on the comment I just made.

I just got the Relient K song, and I think the two best songs for Christmas DLC would be Angels we Have heard on High (sweet vocal, drum, and guitar track), and Deck the Halls (nice bass track, vocals, and drums). I mean, they sound similar, but they're both perfectly suited for Rock Band and I would absolutely love to have them around.

Well I'd assume, on such short notice, this wouldn't happen-- there's always next year.
