Yeah that's really good because the only thing that existed in the 80s music scene was hard rock and metal.

Rocks the 80s sucked because of all the synth pop (the only type of pop from the time)

Rock in the 80s was great because of bands like REM, The Cure, Violent Femmes, etc.
I'd much prefer an 80s alternative/college pack than hair metal.

My 80s suggestions
Ratt - Back for more
Guns N roses - Nightrain
Journey - Seperate ways
For the record "Painkiller" was released in 1990 so you need to fix that

I think it would be nice for people to get over their Metal/Hard Rock obsession.

I think you should include Judas Priest - Electric Eye. That song was the best one on GHII Rocks the '80s. Just watch this video and tell me that song doesn't belong in Rock Band:

Is this called Pop Band? No it's not.

Yes but there's a ton of alternative 80s that exist that would be totally playable, and it isn't hard or metal. Johnny Marr from The Smiths, Hooky from New Order, Porl Thompson from The Cure all had huge impacts on alternative music now. Hell Johnny Marr is in Modest Mouse now. Even bands like Bow Wow Wow (Aphrodisiac, wicked guitar and drums), Adam and the Ants (again drumming and guitar), Oingo Boingo... All these.. They get overlooked a lot because all people think of the 80s is hair bands and pop. It's a shame!

As I've stated elsewhere:
Starship:
Jane (Okay, technically, it's the 70's since it came out sometime in 1979, but Starship is such an 80's band, I thought it would fit).
The Bangles:
I'll Set You Free
Glitter Years
In Your Room
Pat Benatar:
Shadows of the Night
Hearbreaker
The Victim

i like alot of the packs that everybody mentioned, except for the journey i'd need to see "any way you want it" just because that song + alcohol = extreme fun/humor

Motley Crue: Too Fast For Love
Bon Jovi: Slippery When Wet
