I saw on Gamefaqs that if you score 1 million points in your solo signing career you get a gold microphone. Well, I scored over a million and have no gold mic. Does it really exist? How do you unlock it?

It's definetly real. I believe you have to five star all expert singing songs. Don't take my word for it though.

Odd question. Why don't you just go to the instrument shop and color your microphone gold?

Because none of the colors really look that gold on the mic.

I don't exactly remember when I got my gold mic, but I got a silver one after completing all 58 songs. I got the gold mic pretty early, and I'm up to 7mil points now, so the 1mil mark makes sense, but if you didn't get it yet then either someone's lying or there's a glitch in your game.

I'm pretty sure you get the gold instrument for completing the main setlist solo tour, and the silver instrument for finishing the bonus setlist solo tour.

I <3 my gold mic and silver Strat.

I got the gold mic after I finished the vocals solo tour on medium.

I got it right before I finished Expert. It's probably going through 45 songs on at least medium difficulty or something similar. I had something like 4 million points when I got the thing, so I think score is out the window. Definitely not all 5 stars on Expert btw. ;)

Got mine after being Foreplay/Longtime on Expert, which was the last song out of the main 45 songs I had to complete.

That's all you have to do, beat Foreplay/Longtime. You don't even have to beat all the songs. You can do this at any difficulty other than Easy.

I did the last tier out of order (I wanted to go out with Tom Sawyer) and got my mike prematurely as a result. :)

Sweet that makes sense. I only have a few songs left before I beat the vocals on hard.

I beat all the main songs on expert to get it,

You get a silver one for beating the lesser known band songs

Yeah, I got mine rather early... And itwas after beating Foreplay/Longtime on Vox. I don't think there's any set point amount your need to get it.

I beat it on Medium

Ok, here is how you really get it(as SOME people have correctly stated): You beat the last song on the last tier on medium or higher difficulty. For vocals, that would be foreplay. So you get the gold mic once you beat foreplay, and at NO other time. It is NOT random and it is NOT tied to points.

To get the silver instruments(which I believe you can do this on any difficulty) you have to beat the bonus setlist with that instrument.

You must complete all songs on Medium. I just received my golden mic the other day. I completed most of them 5 stars, but not all. You must do this solo.
