After a week, it's time for me to puff up my chest and pretend that anyone will actually read this.

Let's get the un-licensable out of the way: Everyone wants Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Beatles, Van Halen, and every other notoriously tough-to-get artist. I'm no different, and I may as well mention it in order to help correctly gauge customer interest.

Then there's the obvious: Appetite For Destruction. I get a little tingly just thinking of it.

After that, there's me. I'll throw my tastes against the wall, let's see what sticks. I'm not too worried about the commercial acceptance factor, as HMX has already shown a willingness to go a little left of center.

Albums:

Montrose - self-titled. Though if there were a shot at single songs, let's not forget "Paper Money" and "I Got The Fire" from the second LP. Speaking of Sammy…

Van Halen - The Hagar Years. Get over the Sammy hate. "Poundcake" and "Humans Being" await. I'll take OU812 right effin' now.

Def Leppard - Hysteria. I imagine if they were easy to get, they'd have been gotten by now. Still, it'd be too awesome. Seven hit singles and five great LP tracks.

Queen - A Day At The Races/News of the World/Sheer Heart Attack. To my ears, the most rockin' Queen LPs. Your mileage may vary. I'd love "Innuendo" as a single, while I'm at it.

KISS - Alive!. I'll take the entire KISS catalog. Yes, even The Elder. But the live albums have such great energy, and game-ready arrangements.

Thin Lizzy - Live And Dangerous

Cheap Trick At Budokan. See above.

The Rolling Stones - Exile On Main St. Too much? I know it's a sprawling double album, and it's not necessarily party-friendly at all times, but man…

Off Broadway - On. Didn't see that coming, did ya? Bet one could get publishing AND the master tapes for about a buck-fitty.

Queensryche - Rage For Order. I know people love Mindcrime, but to me, this is as good as the 'ryche ever got. Start to finish, this LP is the GOODS.

HIM - Razorblade Romance. Well, most of it, at any rate. Yeah, yeah, I know it's just goth prom themes, and "Join Me In Death" is too piano-heavy. What can I say? It's one of my most-repeated recent CDs.

King's X - Dogman. I'll take the whole catalog, but I'm feeling Dogman this week.

Black Sabbath - DIO!

Deep Purple - Burn/Stormbringer/Come Taste The Band. It's all about the Coverdale/Hughes years for me. Speaking of…

Singles/Packs:

Whitesnake. I dunno that they ever made a 100% album, but boy there's some good single tracks in there.

Warrant/Winger/White Lion/Great White/pick an issue of RIP or Metal Edge from 1986-1992. A much-maligned era that was nonetheless known for huge choruses and technical proficiency from individual musicians. The music of my youth. Bring it ALL on. I'll be happy to help advise, and I'm not even half-joking. Oh, wait. That's what I'm doing now.

ZZ Top. I'm partial to the pre-Eliminator days, but even that album has "I Got The 6". I'm thinking more in terms of "Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers", "Precious And Grace", or the whole Deguello LP.

Devo. "Girl U Want", "Freedom of Choice" just for starters.

The Bus Boys. I wanna see some peoples' heads explode.

The Residents. See above, but yeah. I know.

Golden Earring. Start with the two hits, then branch out into some "She Flies On Strange Wings" or "Candy's Going Bad" or "Clear Night Moonlight".

Rainbow. For me, it's "Man on the Silver Mountain", "Since You Been Gone" and "Jealous Lover".

Okay, this is getting rambly even for me. I'll edit myself here.

TL;DR? Look for the bold type.

I agree with most of that.

Slight return. Thanks for the Devo. I stand by the Montrose debut, and still think y'all need to get over the Van Hagar hate.

How did you make the "cent" symbol?
