if i have rb1 on the ps2 and rb2 on the ps3 is there any way to down load the the songs to my ps3 is my ps3 is the newer version and doesnt support ps2 ?

Nope, you need the PS3 version of RB1 to do the song export. You can't do it with the PS2 version.

You don't have to buy the game to import the tracks, though. You can still import 55 of the 58 songs by renting or borrowing the game.

First, place RB1 in your system and download the title update when prompted. Second, go in the PSN store and find the export license/key. Purchase that key for $5. Finally, go back to RB1, select Options->Export. Follow the directions to export the 55 exportable RB1 tracks. Note that Run to the Hills, Enter Sandman, and Paranoid do not export due to licensing issues (and Monsoon if you are in the EU).
