From a friend elsewhere on the interweb, he's usually accurate with this stuff due to his "inside sources". Not sure how I feel about an album from Scab KISS but one's on the way never the less.

Just thought I'd provide you guys with a KISS update:

The Album
There are a ton of rumors swirling around right now about the new album. My source close to the band has informed that 14 full tracks have been completed for the project. Of those tracks, the break down looks like this:
Paul - 9 tracks
Gene - 3 tracks
Tommy/Eric - 1 track (other 2 tracks are most likely Gene songs)

The album is said to be in the can by February so the band can take some time off before rehearsals for the huge South American Tour begin in mid-March. There is a slim possiblity that one new song could make its debut on this tour, but don't get too excited just yet.

The band are also preparing a full scale media blitz in time for the album's release. The plans are for KISS to be everywhere when the record comes out. More on this soon.

The Tour
The band are being strongly rumored for Sarnia Bayfest and Festival D'Ete de Quebec (or Quebec City Summer Festival). While just a rumor for now, the timeline for these festivals falls in line with other shows KISS are planning in the region.

Following the Canadian tour, the band will take some time off before returning to the States. A handful of shows in Europe before year's end is also a strong possiblity.

I've got more information but until more things are confirmed by the band, my lips have to remain sealed.

Because there are still plenty of Kiss-tards out there that will buy just about anything with a KISS logo. I'll reserve judgement until I hear the album since I have a morbid curiousity for this kind of thing but I'm sure I wont like it. I haven't really liked anything since 1982's Creatures of the Night. I'l skip the tour though, the whole Tommy as Ace and Eric as Pete thing just sickens me.

Problem is that they've all probably bought the KI(waffen)SS uniforms and are executing the Night of the Long Tongues on us as we post.

He offends me in that he didn't even put an accent on.

Off-topic - Can't blame Cruise for that one. That was a decision made by the director that no one was to use accents so they could concentrate on the role. So blame Bryan Singer. ;)

On-Topic - I'm not sure Gene can be taken down with conventional weapons.

This phrase should never be on topic, haha.

And yes, the only way to defeat him is using Communism. Let's see your massive merchandising empire survive my +10 Redistribution of the Wealth Simmons!

Gene can never die, he's like a vampire, or a parasite. You can never kill him, unless he becomes the richest man on earth, then he'll just kill himself because he'll be bored, a la Pyramid Head in Silent Hill 2.

If he became the richest man on Earth he'd mass produce trophies for KISS fans to buy and celebrate with him... for a price.

I fail to see how this effects the haters?
Any way. Kiss does need to retire, their no longer relevant, and yes the where relevant back in the day.

Like Axl i will at least reserve judgment until the album comes out.

No where near as many as The Who.

^dude's got a point. And not NEAR as many as the Stones.

But I will at least listen to the album before I make an opinion. However, I will say I think the first two Alive! albums are their best.

I think it was fair. The moment they exploited their fans by placing their faces and logo on every conceivable object, they became enemies of the public.

Ehhhh...to be honest I never really had a problem with the way Gene merchandised the band. It was a smart business move and he was way ahead of the curve on realizing how important merch is to a bands financial well being. It's ridiculous at this point, coffins, condoms and such but originally I didn't have an issue with it.

I have more of an issue with him parading Singer and Thayer around as Peter and Ace these days. Just seems crass and dis-respectful, but it's Gene so I don't expect better from him.
