I just bought the rock band system completely understanding that this game was oriented towards rockin roll and heavy metal, but though the DLC content I think the system should be able to explore more genres. Not every band is a rock band so why should gamers be forced to play only rock? I would really like to some country, jazz, Hip-Hop, and maybe some electronic music. After all this game is about having a good time with your friends right? Why not appeal to the widest audience? With the power of MTV and Harmonix why can’t this be possible? If you put any country music or any of the other genres I will be the first to purchase it. Send those licensing people after Garth Brooks, Linkin Park, or Prodigy. PLEASE

It was Harmonix's choice to go with a rock-genred game. I would love more genres as well. I was disappointed that Karaoke Revolution didn't have more rock titles, and now they have an entire game for it! But to encompass that many genres would seriously limit the number of songs available within those genres. And for someone who only likes rock, or only hip-hop, their selections would be extremely lacking and they may even get bored with the game very easily.

I totally agree with you. This game is capable of different genres, I would not be surprise if Earth, Wind, and Fire appeared w/Brickhouse or something. :P While the majority is rock, metal, etc, there was Freezepop's song "Brain power", which kind of border lined pop/electronic/rock.

I'd enjoy some Pop and Electronic, and my parents would love some Blues, so my vote is in for that too.

I say put as many different genres as can be thought up in there. If you don't like a certain genre, nobody is forcing you to buy any of the DLC, so you could be as picky as you want. Although I would mostly buy rock or metal, I wouldn't mind there being other stuff as well.
