While this would lend itself best to having the nunchuck attach to the guitar in a wii version, but with the port for pedals, they might be able to make a peripheral for all versions.

But the perfect use would be: an EBOW and a SLIDER. Nuff said.

This would rock quite considerbly.

And what about a talk box?

And ive always wondered: instead of a strum button, how bout and actual string, doesnt have to be long, and should be replacable if it were to break, that you actually strun with a pic. If this was done, the idea of includin an ebow and a slider would make ever more sense.

Thoughts?

or you could use the nunchuk to do windmills instead of strumming, that would be fun.
im suprised the guy who says "no gimmicks!" hasnt said "no gimmicks!" yet.

Both! :P

No, but really.

PROTEST THE HERO!

Also, I'm not sure what the OP meant by their ideas for the Wiimote.

An Ebow is something guitarists use to extend notes a really long time in a very melodic and harmonic way, though Adam Jones of TOOL swears that if you know what you are doing that you never neeed an Ebow. But of course most people are human and incapable of doing half of what TOOL does =P.

A slider goes on the finger and in stead of pressing down on chords you slide up and down to make funky sounds, proper use of one can sound amazing. Watch the perfect circle for Judith to see one being used by Billy Howerdel i believe. They are different kinds, glass, metal, etc. to make different sorts of resonating sounds.

And with the wii nunchuck, or a peripheral for the other systems that attaches to the pedal port, i think it would be a really cool addition to the game.

haha. well an ebow and a slide wouldn't really be a gimmick, if they were so would pedals.

If there was a Wii version, which I am becoming more and more worried there wont be, I would hope it didn't have a gimmickie feel. Any use of the Wiiremote or nunchuck would really have to work with the game. From how the game plays, I personally cannot think of a good way of utilizing them. I would much rather that the game is identical to PS3 and 360 then mess it up by doing something weird to the controls.

I don't even really like the idea of clipping your Wiimote into the guitar for GH III. Also with tons of Downloadable content, I don't know how the Wii is going to handle this game to its fullest extent, I hope it does come out for the Wii, but if it doesn't support DLC it might not even be worth it.

Well like i said i really don't see an ebow or a slide as a gimmick. They are standard fair for many a band. And again if they were a gimmick then pedals would be too, and that will likely happen at some point (not sure if they have been officially annouced for RB & GH3).

And gimmicky? Well when you think about it both the GH and RB franchises are sort of gimmicks themselves, but i dont see anything wrong with that.
