If this tour is coming near you, it is a must see! Here's a recap of the show last night at the E-Center in Utah.

Saving Abel opened up and did a great six song set. I was only familiar with "18 Days" and "Addicted", but after hearing the rest of that set, I will be picking this album up soon. How is this band not in Rock Band yet?

Papa Roach was next. I have to admit, I wasn't familiar with Papa Roach until Crue Fest last year and their inclusion of "Time is Running Out" in Rock Band. That being said, my nieces (took them with us, tickets were one of their Christmas presents from us) absolutely love them. They did a 10-12 song set which included "Getting Away with Murder", "Lifeline", and ending with "Broken Home" and "Last Resort". We had seats in the 8th row on an aisle one section away from the stage. Jacoby Shaddix went out into the crowd on three occasions during the set. The final time was during Broken Home when he started heading up our aisle. My oldest niece, sporting a Papa Roach shirt, stepped out into the aisle to get a pic on her cell phone. Jacoby got up to about row 6 and started to turn to head back. My niece started to turn towards me to show me the pic she got. His eye must have caught my niece and her shirt, because he spun back around and put his hand on her shoulder. She turned and he gave her a hug. I did my best to snap a pic on my cell phone, but only managed to get the back of his head as he was leaving. "He was sweaty and stinky - and it was great!" Someone behind us offered $100 for the shirt, which she declined without hesitation.

As much as the nieces love Papa Roach, we were there to see A7X. They did not disappoint. The opened with "Critical Acclaim" and "Afterlife". They followed this with "Beast and the Harlot" and "Dear God". This was followed by "Gunslinger" with an intro story about a friend of his from Utah who is heading off for a 3rd tour in Iraq. Synyster Gates did two guitar-only songs, with a third that started as a solo. The rest of the band other than M. Shadows joined him and it ended with a drum solo by The Rev. This then led into "Bat Country". I'm sure I'm missing a couple of songs, but the set ended with "Almost Easy". Sadly, there was no encore.

Sorry to disappoint the Buckcherry fans, but none of us are Buckcherry fans. We did not stick around for their set. We were there for A7X and Papa Roach, and loved every minute of both of their sets. I found it interesting that Buckcherry was the closing act. The A7X fans greatly outnumbered the rest of the fans combined. We were far from the only fans that left after A7X.

On another note, Jacoby was on the radio yesterday morning talking about the month-long tour. He mentioned that they may be adding a 2nd month to the tour.

I went to see them late November to Augusta GA (Saving Abel, Shinedown, Buckcherry, A7X). Man, Saving Abel was preety freakin' awesome. I picked up their album and a T-shirt. Sadly I can't really wear the T-shirt to work lol

Shinedown was also awesome, they did Devour (Rock Band goodie), 45 and other awesome stuff.

Buckcherry... to be honest maybe they had the volume a bit too high because I couldn't hear what he was singing and they even blew an amp (rock on!). Then they kept going even with the screwed up amp, and sang Rescue Me (another Rock Band goodie) and other things.

Then came A7X to tear the house down with basically all the songs the OP mentioned. Three more Rock Band goodies lol

Me being a RB vocalist, I of course sang them all on top of my lungs. It was possibly the best experience I've had recently.

Well it would be if it weren't for the mosh pits and the crowd surfers. Hard to enjoy a show when someone throws a person on you lmao

I'm a little bummed about the concert the other night.. Apparently one of the band members of Avenged Sevenfold was sick, so they could not perform.. My guess is they were too drunk.
