Hey all.

So basically I have 2 roommates and usually at least one or two friends over the house a few times a week. Plus we get regular visitors from other friends. basically we often have more then enough people to play Rock Band.

The question that I ask is about making RULES FOR ROCK BAND.

Currently these are the Rules that we have... (The wording will be cut down to fit on a sign)...

1) Everyone that wants comes through has to get at least one song in on the mic. NON NEGOTIABLE. We all suck at singing but if you are going to laugh at someone else (which is entirely encouraged by the way) then you have to let them have a chance to laugh at you too.

2) When the whole band is firing, the crowd in the game will start to sing along too. This is an audio cue that everyone has been nailing everything for a little while. It is becoming rarer and rarer to see this as we move up the difficulty level so it is a fairly tough challenge to do. So to show support and encouragement when the crowd starts singing, EVERYONE in the room should sing along until the crowd drops out. It sounds dumb but trust us, we did it a few times last night and it definitely added a nice boost to the fun. Also, never feel constrained to those parts to join in. Unless the singer is saying that it is messing him or her up, feel free to sing along at anytime.

3) Videos and pics will be taken. Get over it.

Does anyone have any to add? Anything that you guys can envision that we would run into problems with?

Thanks in advance

4) If you start failing out on an instrument you have to give it up.

5) Just because you are the lead singer of a fake band doesn't give you the right to be a real jerk.

I like the singalong rule...I'm throwing a rock Band party in January (in hopes they fix the GH3 PS3 patch by then) and I'll definitely try to incorporate that one. And yes, whenever someone is comes over, I'm always taking pics.

btw, has anybody seen a YouTube video where there's a whole crowd surrounding the 'rock band'? I'd like to see that!

As for addition rules:

5b) If there's a lot of people, you get a maximum of three times at your current instrument and then you have to rotate out or rotate to another instrument. This gives the person enough chances to learn how to NOT suck at the current song and/or ability to be on an instrument long enough while others suck.

Great thread by the way!

6a.) In the event you fail your part, a swift kick to the balls must be administered. If player lacks said parts, then mega ***** twister shall be used in place.

6b.) While failing, crowd must thrown foreign objects at band. Here is a list of objects that are acceptable and encouraged to use.

Bottles- Glass, plastic, Molotov's
Used rubbers
Dirty panties
Tomatoes
Soiled diapers
Bong water
Balls of any sort - Tennis, ping-pong, football, baseball, soccer, etc.

Great thread by the way!

We are throwing a mini Rock band Party this weekend. I will make a thread about it and post pics somewhere online when we do. Hopefully the thread will live on and we can see pics and vids from other Rock band parties.

The crowd thing sounds cool. But I think it would need to be in a dorm. I am thinking the lounge area to be really cool so you can get the full scope of it.

I like that rule. It isnt an issue now because the game is so new (and the fun to watch as well as play) that we havent had any issue with people not wanting to hang it up for a bit. We have all wanted to try out the different things and so far everyone has been very good about it. Still it might need to be implemented in the future.

A bit on the harsh side, but I like where your head is at.

We currently do boo when someone is messing up (although not usually if it is the persons first go through a song). Throwing balls at each other is something we do on a daily basis so we can add that. just about everything else seems a bit harsh. Oh and bongwater? Man, you demand perfection huh? You cant get that smell out for a week. I hope all your friends are good at RB otherwise they are gonna reek for a while.
