Someone on the fatwallet forums pointed this out. A sampler album 11 indie bands is up for free on Amazon's MP3 store:

I'm listening through it right now; it's basically garage band rock (I'm not really knowledgeable about the indie rock scene). Lots of noise and yelling into the mike, but some of the songs aren't half bad. I like Big Takeover's energy, and I totally dig the bass on Ha Ha Ha. Anyhow, the price is right, and it's worth the download to check something new out. Who knows maybe one of these bands will have some other decent stuff?

I'm a huge fan of The Dickies, Flipper, and Johnny Thunders. The Bad Brains and MC5 are legends, too. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

Punk and proto-punk... Totally bizarre, did not expect that at all.

Oh yeah, this isn't like pansy light rock stuff. It's definitely loud and obnoxious.
