Pandora Radio

Has anyone heard of this website before? It's great for discovering new artists of a certain genre. Pandora radio allows you to create a radio station about a certain song or artist and then it will find other bands and songs with of a similar genre and sound. I guess you could say that it's kind of like last.fm, but it is still really helpful. I've already discovered a couple of new bands. Here's the link:

No. Pandora is awful. I once got System of a Down in related/similar artists when I asked for bands like Tyr. It's a bad website. Period.

It's a good site, but you can't use it if you're not from United States and that sucks.

pandora = love, especially as an iphone app. I rarely use the site, but as far as streaming audio apps, it's the best I've found.

I've swapped out Pandora and last.fm lately for Slacker radio which just came to iPhone/Touch land about 2 weeks ago. You can get professionally programmed stations or program your own. Their library is better than last.fm's, there are less drop outs and the quality is about as good as streaming gets.

I like it cause it exposes me to a lot of music that is more or less similar to the kind of stuff I already like but had never come across before. Sometimes, even, I get something completely unexpected that I like, then put that in and get a bunch of stuff like THAT. For example, I'm now really into new folk-rock & jazz-rock bay area bands... something I probably wouldn't even have come across without Pandora.
