1958 - Little Richard quits music at the height of his fame to attend evangilism college. He stays there for the next 4 years.

1969 - Iron Butterfly are so unsettled by the positive crowd reaction to opening band Led Zeppelin that they refuse to perform.

1970 - Robert Plant checks himself out of hospital after suffering injuries in a car accident.

1976 - the David Bowie album Station To Station is #5 in the UK

1979 - The Clash begin a Nortth American tour in Vancouver, Canada with Bo Diddley opening the shows.

1981 - The Elvis Costello album Trust debuts at #9 in the UK

1982 - The Doobie Brothers split up but promise fans they would re-form for a farewell tour.

1984 - Alice Cooper and his wife of 8 years, Sheryl, have a divorce hearing at Maricopa County Superior Court, AZ. They would reconcile and stay married by mid-year.

1987 - Gensis' Land of Confusion benefits greatly from the accompanying music video featuring the puppets of The Spitting Image TV series. It's #4 in the US and #14 in the UK today.

1988 - the Beastie Boys deny rumors that they have broken up but do sat that they are taking a much needed break.

1992 - Motley Crue is sued for the second time by a fan claiming to have suffered hearing loss after attending a Crüe concert. Twenty-five-year-old Clifford Goldberg of New York says the band and promoter were negligent in failing to monitor sound levels during the show and he sues for seven million dollars to recompense his hearing loss.

If you're voluntarily going to a Motley Crue show in '92 you've got bigger problems than hearing loss, I'm afraid.
