Well, I ordered my replacement guitar on Sunday, so I was expecting it to come in yesterday. It didn't, whatever that's cool ya know, **** happens. That's not the weird issue here.

I checked my bank account today as it's payday and I wanted to keep up with my records and **** and the $100 holding fee was gone. It hadn't been charged, it had just been taken off. I haven't even gotten the replacement guitar yet. Anyone else have this problem?

The $100 fee disappearing isn't a bad thing.
Banks/credit card companyies only leave "authorizations" up for 3 days or so, if the company doesn't submit an actual purchase statement within that time, the authorization is removed.

I was thinking it was along those lines, but will that effect me getting the replacement guitar?

Remember that replacements are shipped via 2-day air but additional processing time is required before the box gets to UPS to be shipped. A good rule of thumb is 1-5 days of processing time and then a 2-day air shipment. This can obviously fluctuate a bit based on holiday shipping traffic and the number of replacements being processed.

As for your authorization being dropped, as Redempshin said, this is quite normal. The authorization is a verification against your credit card and can drop from your statement quite quickly depending on your bank; an actual charge won't show up unless you haven't sent back the malfunctioning peripheral within the 28-day limit.

It is good to note however, that using a debit card rather than a credit card may cause a hold to be placed on actual funds while the authorization is on your account.

If you are still concerned that your replacement may not go through, feel free to send me a PM with your RMA number so I can have it checked on for you.

I hope this answers your questions.

Ah no, I'm not complaining about the amount of time it's taking or complaining that the card I used was holding actual funds because it was a debit card, I just want to make sure that since the hold was taken off my card it won't mess up the shipment or cancel it, since I was assumed from what I read that hold would be removed once you got the guitar back. That's all. :)
