Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow which as legend predicts means we are in for six more weeks of winter. Yay or neigh? Yay for me since I want to try snowboarding a few times before winter ends.

Yay because I want to see some more snow. It's weird, it was 60 degrees here in Knoxville yesterday. I was wearing shorts...and there is now 2 inches of snow on the ground. It's been snowing for nearly 5 hours and still got a lot more to come.

Well the season is set in stone. The weather associated with the season is not. For example, see southern Florida for the next few hours. The severe weather window has moved back towards the US and over the southern tip of FL for today. So in a way, it's spring in Florida today.

The groundhog's prophecies mean nothing, I tells you! NOTHING!
That said, I don't really care, haha.

You know there's people who actually think that within our lifetimes, we'll be able to control the weather? What absolute nonsense! And those same people tend to be the ones who think that that would be a good thing. All weather serves a purpose in keeping this planet livable. As we can see from the current pollution/global warming stuff that's happening now, messing with the way the planet works is not a good idea.

I don't trust that groundhog. He seems like a shifty character.

I live in Michigan, dood. Winter might last until late April or early May here... heck, we've had frost on the Fourth of July before!
At least I can have some sense of humor about the situation when it's been in the low 40s the past two days and that melted quite a bit of snow.

I don't care. My city is in a constant state of spring thaw from November to April so it doesn't really matter. The mountains right across the way on the other hand are nice and snowy for Reading Week.
