Hello-I have RB2 for the Wii running on a 50 inch Samsung Plasma. The calibration is wonderful when using the RB2 disc, however I am having an impossible time calibrating the RB2 instruments to the original RB games (Rock Band and both Track Packs). When I download the songs from the Online Store, they work fine. Is there a trick with getting the RB2 instruments to calibrate to the original RB games on the Wii. I am extremely frustrated at this point. Also, I downloaded Something About You (Boston) from the Online Store and the instruments quit working in the middle of the song. This is the only song this happens with. Any idea why?
Thanks!

From what I've noticed IMO, the note detection is just much better in RB2 than any other music game on the Wii. I never did try to play RB1/TPs with a RB2 guitar though, but I always did much better on RB2 ("Rockaway Beach" and "Dirty Litte Secret" seem to play much better on RB2 as DLC than RB1 disc songs, with the RB1 guitar).

My advice is just try to keep calibrating, but I've never been able to get the Wii to get a good calibration on an HD or Plasma in any game but RB2.

Yeah RB1 calibration for the wii is just awful. I can get the Drums calibrated perfectly, but once I get in game I'm missing 1 out of 10 hits.. Also by calibrating to the drums the guitar is then way out of sync. If I calibrate the guitar, then the drums are way out of sync. If I put it somewhere in the middle the game is just unplayable.

Total waste of 50 bucks for me.

Finally found the right thread!!! I can't get my drums calibrated either for RB1.
They play perfectly in Rb2 (and the track packs as well actually, AC/DC pack on expert drums 5 golds stars on almost every song) But Rb1 sucks. Miss notes all the time!! I'm usin an RB2 wireless kit. What gives? Usin and RCA 27" CRT TV.
Anyone know some good manual settings to try, nothin seems to get the game play right that i try....

I agree, it appears to be a $50 waste on RB1. I did however buy the AC/DC Track Pack, and it also works perfectly. Any ideas on the DL Boston song, "Something About You"? I am still a bit new to the downloadable content. Can I delete it and download it again without being nailed for another 200 Wii Points? I am not sure if this will fix the problem, but I guess it may be worth a shot. Any idea when Harmonix plans to have all of the DLC that is currently available for the 360 and PS3 also available for the Wii?

at 6 tracks a week, I would say 2 years minimum

Yes you can re download songs from the nintendo music store for free once you have already purchased them. And who knows when the DLC for the Wii will catch up?
As far as getting RB1 calibrated, I managed to do it, took me all day, but it plays as well as RB2 now.
My system uses a 27" RCA (crt) TV. Video and audio are patched thru a Yamaha A/V reciever. Video connection is S Video from the Wii and thru the amp into the S video input on the TV. My calibration settings are as follows:
A/V calibration is set to -30ms. Lag compensation is set to +20ms.
My rockband uses 2 RB1 wireless guitars and the RB2 wireless drum kit.
I have read that getting the drum kit calibrated properly often causes the guitars to come out of sync, but this did not happen on my setup. All Instruments are bang on now. Rb1 is fun to play once again. My Rb2 settings are at default and all instruments play fine in it.

For anyone havin issues getting RB1 calibrated (with any config of tv) I suggest, first to set RB1 to the default settings for ur TV type. Then go into the manual settings and write down the A/V and Lag settings, Note these as Default. Then manually subtract 30 ms from the A/V and add 20 ms to the lag and try that. Good luck!
