On a wii--I've performed 100% on hard scored 108179 on guitar--Interstate Love Song--which, according to http://rockband.yajags.com/cutoffs/?drums=none&bass=none&guitar=hard&vocals=none is over the threshold. But, I have yet to get a gold star performance--Btw, I've been over these scores quite a few times. Any ideas as to what gives?

I thought gold-starring was for Experts only. I'm probably wrong though... Are you deploying your OD?

Yes Chatham you are correct, you can only get gold on Expert.

Yes, deploying OD, maybe not optimally, but. ..

I'm pretty sure the only gold star perfomance I scored was hard vocals on Go Your Own Way-- (I didn't even know there was such a thing before that, hehe) that was for 129k. But, recently, I scored 120k on hard and, it too didn't merit gold star. So, I'm terribly confused.

If you gold starred "Go Your Own way"...you were playing on Expert. You cannot get gold on any other difficulty.

If you are playing in a band, if even one player is not on Expert, you cannot get gold stars, regardless of score.

Hope that clears up the confusion.

I'm curious as to why someone would make a complex web page like this if it were only possible to gold star during expert. I will say, though, that would explain my problem.

If you were to read the cutoff for difficulties for anything besides gold stars it says pyrite stars not gold stars. So apparently there is something if you meet the 6 star cut off. But honestly that I don't know.

Pyrite=fool's gold. That means that for that difficulty level, that would be the equivalent of a gold star (~1.5 times the 5-star score). It's simply a construct for creating an equivalency; you don't actually get anything.

And no, you don't earn gold stars at difficulties lower than expert.

Well, I just played the most difficult bass song on expert  (So What'ch Want --57479), and did gold star--so that must be it. Thanks for the help, all.
