I hate seeing my school and the world in such bad taste of music. We had 20 songs to vote for. The top 5 would be devoted on to be class song. I voted for Baba O'Riley. Of course, not in top 5. This is the top 5:
A Trace Adkins song. ( IMO, of course: F country. )
Good Riddance - Good Day ( Uhmmm... Hello overplayed. I think this song will win though )
A Rascal Flatts Song ( No comment; haven't really listened to them. )
Here's to the Night - Eve 6 ( What I voted for. Good song. )
Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley ( Just god no. **** NO! )

Totally Rock Band related.
... and what do you expect from a gaggle of high schoolers?

I'm honestly overcome with joy that Rick Astley is the top 5.

If they knew of Rock Band, their taste would be much better. I hate that they are missing out on good music.

Rick Roll isn't even funny. That poo died years ago. Get over it... It's not even good for a joke. Eve 6 FTMFW.

I'd vote for Here's to the Night. Good song from a good band, though it is a really common class song. Good Riddance is what made me sick of Green Day in the first place. It's not bad, it's just really overrated and overplayed.

I'd have voted for Its My Life by Bon Jovi

No...Rickroll'ing is still awesome and still hilarious (see Macy's Day Parade couple months ago). That needs to win.

Good Riddance may be overplayed, but I still like it. Best one on the list, in my opinion.

Here's To The Night doesn't make much sense as a class song, considering it's about a one-night stand. Eve 6 and Green Day are two "good" bands (IMO), at least. I'd probably vote for Rick. :D

I will never understand the term "bad taste".
Seems only a person who thinks their opinion is fact would use this term.

I agree that good riddance is quite possibly the most overplayed non-american idiot album green day song, its still a damn fine song. Im surprised to see Eve 6 on there. Horrorspoe may be one of the 5 most played albums of mine ive EVER owned and its a fantastic album, but that song is one of 2 songs i skip over. Give me Rescue, Promise or On the Roof Again. Id love for some Eve6 to be in RB btw
And I also loved seeing Rick Astley on there. Vote for that

Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley ( Just god no. **** NO! )
GOD YES!
We're no strangers to love
You know the rules and so do I
A full commitment's what I'm thinking of
You wouldn't get this from any other guy
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
We've know each other for so long
Your heart's been aching
But you're too shy to say it
Inside we both know what's been going on
We know the game and we're gonna play it
And if you ask me how I'm feeling
Don't tell me you're too blind to see
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Repeat Chorus
Give you up, give you up
Give you up, give you up
Never gonna give,
Never gonna give, give you up
Never gonna give,
Never gonna give, give you up
Last four lines repeated
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand
Chorus times three

Last year, Jonas Brothers won.
Out of all those songs, Good Riddance is great but I agree it's overplayed.

I tried to get my graduating class to do Won't Get Fooled Again, but they ended up picking some generic hip hop song I don't remember.

trust me. this is all irrelevant. it doesnt matter what your class song is. they'll probably just play it once after prom or graduation and then youll never have to hear it again.
mine was "closing time" by semisonic. cant remember the last time i heard that. good song too.

I think mine was Truckin' by the Grateful Dead. Which is a good song, but not really a class song. And no, I'm not that old... My class just had a bunch of preppy Woodstock wannabes who thought that listening to the Dead was cool, and were overly fixated on the "what a long strange trip it's been" lyric.

I actually didn't expect those choices. My high school had people mostly listening to either rap, R&B, or pop (of the Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys variety).
Not many people listened to rock in my school. It was mostly the pot heads and the goths. That's, I think, why I grew to appreciate weirdos and why I am one.

I don't even remember my class song. Some cliched, top 40 BS, if i remember anything.
I propose that from this day forward, the only song allowed to be anyone's class song, is Get to the Choppa by Austrian Death Machine.

Umm.... yea high school sux. just focus on the great times you'll have when you're out of that HS bull**** and into the "real world," and all its bull****. :)
College is great though, go to college.
Oh and for everyone asking what this has to do with rock band... it is about music... and rock band is about music... and he posted it under general section of the forum... idiots need to learn how to read
as for the songs, yeah they are all bad... even the eve 6 one

It's a quality pop song, no doubt. Once you get over all the preconceived notions and the negative associations attributed to Rick Rolling, it's catchy as hell.
I wish it was my graduation theme.

Calm down there, friend. The thread started in the Rock Band section and was moved here by a mod. It belongs here in the general section, because the topic doesn't relate to the game. Flawless just happens to be annoyed by people who regularly do things like that, which Ordeal has been known to do.

At high my school 11 years ago our class songs were Good Riddance and I Will Survive.
