I gave a copy to a friend as an early Christmas present. His strummer is starting to crap out as well so I placed an RMA for him. He only plays on easy where it's not as big of a deal so since my 'early' order is hung I get whichever one shows up first.

They upped the deposit to $125!

No big deal since I never use that card anyways and plan on returning the guitars properly but:

I'm so sorry all this having to deal with getting me a working product is getting so expensive for you EA! If I give you another $25 bucks will you actually ship my original request to me?????

I think a lot of it is due to Kotaku posting a story saying "Hey, just place an RMA order for a new guitar and don't return the old one... Zvarri! Two guitars!"

A new guitar won't cost any more than $100. Thus, even if EA is getting stiffed by people not returning their guitars they should still be making a profit on the $100 deposit. There isn't any reason to increase the deposit to $125 unless the guitars have all of sudden increased in value.
