After only a week of playing drums, I'm slowly but steadily noticing that I can keep a steady beat, before rockband that was an imposibility for me. Sure at the moment I'm playing on medium difficulty and hard on some of the easier songs, but still it's a great feeling!!
Is anybody else having the same experience?

YES. I've noticed an improvement as well.

Me too. I love it. I hope I can make it to hard eventually.

There was a time when I failed on a lot of songs on hard like Learn to Fly or Celebrity Skin, but that was before I played through on Medium. By the time I was done on medium, those two songs, and several others, just clicked.

me too. I'm on the 4th tier of hard now in single player, and will more than likely beat it and start on expert in the next couple weeks.

I have improved my pedal skills somewhat :) but still i always mess up on the drum rolls because i normally hear many drum sounds and in medium its diminished to 2 or 4 hits..

I have 8 songs left on hard, all thanks to medium difficulty. Great transition in my opinion.

not only am I getting better on rockband, I am getting better on real drumset also! I been playing almost 2 years. I been going in practice mode learning the songs, I played the Boston song on expert for the first time tonight and got 85% on it...it like felt natural to me for some reason. I played about an hour on songs before that so I was warmed up, prolly couldnt play it that well just jumping on it and not getting warmed up first. I got Tom Sawyer at 80% on expert so far.....tried it couple times.

Failed the first time I tried to play on medium. Dropped to easy beat all the songs hit medium and was able to beat all the songs. Working on hard now.

I went through a lot of this myself when I started here. Being good at GH guitar doesn't make you good at RB drums, and a lot of people are shocked. :) I have a ton of fun with it, though.

Same here. I am suprised that I can do some of the easier songs and even some of the intermediate songs on Expert. Though not perfect, I am getting between 89-95% on said songs!
It is a good feeling! If I keep at it eventually I will have no trouble!!

I'm definitely seeing an improvement in my ability to sustain beats. It's becoming much more natural now and a lot less forced. When I first started I had to think about every single note I played. Now, I get into a rhythm and my foot and hands play along with the music without having to think about each and every note.

i never had a problem keeping a beat, i just had a problem refraining from pounding a snare/tom drum and bass drum on off-beats. unfortunately that's still a problem for me. ive passed everything on medium, but green grass high tides took a while, and even though i passed it, it was ugly. i beat run to the hills on my first try, but that was also ugly. the steady parts keep you alive, but i want to be able to play cleanly through the whole song. im hoping i just need more practice (i've probably only logged about 10 hours of gameplay between the drums and guitar), and that my brain is not impossible to train...
