Is it bad that in the 16 hours I've had the Show demo, I've already played 4 4-inning games (and 1 that went 7)?

Loving it so far. Everything is so much tighter. Passed balls don't automatically go to the backstop, now some can bounce off the catcher's chestplate and roll forwards a little leaving the runner with some decisions. There is a significant change in the swing-timing window, where in 08 if you were sitting fastball, you could still make swing early and at least get a piece of a breaking ball, where now I can barely touch Hamel's curveball. Not to mention I've already seen a number of new animations from fielders and hitters.

Only negative I've seen so far (which will inevitably become a positive) is that the pitch meter timing is a lot more sensitive. I don't think I've got a pitch "perfect" yet where I stopped the line on the yellow line.

Man I can't wait...only 24 more days!!!

Yeah, the screenshot capabilities are awesome....movie recording isn't working yet in the demo (or at least I couldn't get it to work), but having my own walk-up music will be amazing. I'm still debating between the intro to "Lost Prophets - We Are Godzilla, You Are Japan" and the intro to "Pennywise - F**k Authority". Both great intro riffs.

I'm also pumped for the new baserunning in RTTS. You just use the L-stick exclusively to determine when you're moving forward, when you're stopped, and when you're retreating (and at what speeds!).

For me nothing will ever top the combo of Tony LaRussa Baseball 3: 96 Edition combined with Old Time Baseball.

Both were PC games capable of being imported into each other, so you could have a lineup that had Kenny Lofton, Cal Ripken, Luis Aparicio, and Josh Gibson with a pitching staff of Mike Mussina, Tim Wakefield, Satchel Paige, and Chief Bender. It also had every classic stadium with all the stadiums from '96, so you could play in 1945 Wrigley or 1996 Wrigley. Now THAT was a baseball game!!

The Show is a close second though. :p.

There haven't been too many features about the online leagues publicized, so from what I've read, it looks like it will be a 1-season league that you can have anywhere from 2-30 people in the league (I'm assuming and hoping if you have 2, then the other 28 teams will be AI controlled). I know you can do a fantasy draft at the start (which will make it more fun if you only have a few friends, for me at least) and it will use flex scheduling.

Other than that, not a lot has been mentioned.


Edit: And the only time I've ever really felt good about the Cubs chances of a World Series win was in 2003.....I learned my lesson then. I cried like a baby, but I learned my lesson.

i would like to try the analogs out but i dont think the show will incorporate them for pitching controls(maybe in 09, '10?). havent seen the show demo yet but i heard that the game looks and plays awesome.

I liked the 2k analog pitching controls when I bought 2K7. The show is basically a timing bar. Pretty standard, select a pitch, hold X as pitching meter goes up to select power, and time it as it comes back down to select accuracy of pitch.

The day The Show comes out, I won't get to play it until probably 10:00 PM. Wednesday the 4th is going to be the least productive day of the year for me, hands down, since I will be going on 0-2 hours of sleep more than likely.

one thing that is really starting to get to me is how OF's dive for balls they have ZERO chance of getting and it usually results in a triple :mad:
and somehow it always seems to happen when there are no outs and im going for a shutout lol

hope they can fix this soon if possible.

I don't play RTTS because its glitched to where you get to september of year 4 the game freezes. Not gonna play till after that is fixed.

Other than that this is THE perfect game.

mlb2k9 got better after this latest patch, but it still has a ton of bugs.

Thinking of picking this game up myself. Got a 10/10 in OPS3 mag here in the UK.
I haven't played a baseball game since allstar baseball 99, I believe that's what it was called on the N64.

I downloaded the demo and found hitting the ball a bit hit and miss, excuse the pun.
Not sure if I'll import it as we get almost zero baseball coverage here in the UK.

Just bought it yesterday and it is by far the best baseball game on the market. So realistic and the graphics are incredible. 2K Sports Baseball is terrible and is a waste of money, if you've got a PS3, this is your game to get. As I've said, I bought it yesterday and haven't stopped playing it since.

need some help from my fellow show gamers out there.

my issue is mostly centered around control issues when pitching. i have a player in RTTS and his control is currently in the 83-85 range on all his pitches which include FB, 12-6 CRV, CH, SL. i have a terrible time consistently spotting the curve and slider at this time.

on the pitching meter i release toward the end of the bar near the red and then toward the center of the blue zone which i can hit the little white line. when i do this, one pitch could be right on target but then the next could be waaaaay out of the zone. i assumed that if you hit the white line the accuracy on pitches would be pretty damm close but it's not. i hate it when i hit the white line and the CRV comes bouncing to the plate :mad: am i doing something wrong here or what? lol

or are the pitch locations contingent on the release point of a certain pitch? any help would be greatly appreciated :D

I've found that the accurace point is different each game and each pitch. Test around with other areas for your release point. I see it as realistic, since IRL pitchers change up their release points and arm slots alot.

ALSO if you want ultra accuracy try bumping up the players control stat on his pitches.

I just got the game yesterday. The controls are a bit awkward at first, especially baserunning. I kept screwing up since it isn't automatic anymore, you have to hit the joystiq.

I just play it for Road to the Show, such a great mode!
