View Full Version : 100% Bass Expert Achievement?

I got the 100% Guitar on Expert achievement the other day, so I figured I'd go for the bass one today. I looked at the achievement and it said all the notes have to be up-strokes. It took me three or four tries to get adjusted, but I finally got the hang of it. I played "I Think I'm Paranoid" on Expert, all up-strokes, and got 100%, but I didn't get the achievement.

Has anyone gotten it? Does it have to be in one of Band modes? I did this in quickplay. I could have sworn that's where I got the guitar one too, but I could be wrong. Thanks

I got my Flawless Groove doing Learn to Fly in online band quickplay. I did all up-strums too, don't know if it matters.

I got it on I Think I'm Paranoid. Double check your achievements because it didn't actually say I got it when I got it, but when I went in and checked I had the achievement.

I got mine on Learn to Fly in quickplay. I feel it's one of the best songs to get this achievement on. The bass doesn't do anything crazy or make any fast changes. Here is a word of caution. If you are going for the achievement on a song with a big rock ending just leave it alone lol. I can't remember what song it was but I had done the whole song with upstrumming only. I was so excited that when I got to the big rock ending i went crazy on the solo buttons, then finished the song with upstrumming. Using the solo buttons ruined it for me. I didn't get the achievement because technically I didn't use all upstrums. So then I did Learn to Fly. Also, I probably don't need to mention this, but you can't get the achievement with the all songs cheat activated.

"Maps," expert, quick play, up-strums only, achievement shown on screen. Huzzah.

i got the Achievement online in Band quickplay, did it on the song "Enter Sandman", no up-strums and still got it at the end of the song

Easiest to get on Mississippi Queen BY FAR...you also have to remember that the big rock endings have to be upstrokes too and YOU CANNOT USE SOLO FRETS AT ANYTIME DURING THE SONG!

I finally had some time and did it again. This time it worked fine. Weird. Thanks all

I've done this about 5x's and I cannot get the achievement!

Very, VERY frustrating.... although my only complaint with the game so far. :o)

I did a quickplay, got 100% perfect on Mississippi Queen, upstrums only, even in the BRF, didn't get the achievement.

worked for my buddy... upstrums only is the key... make sure you don't get an accidental double strum, that might hurt your chances ;)

Perhaps it's an issue of guitar? Does Rock Band recognize up-strums on the Les Paul?

I got it on Maps.
Maybe you hit a down strum without realizing. If you actually did it right though, there's not reason it wouldn't give you the achievement.

It works on any guitar, but don't do anything during the big rock finish, you'll risk a downstrum and you really don't need a lot of points, just 100% ;)

I got it on "Maps" expert (though "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" is pretty easy too), don't know why you would not have gotten it.

if i'd had an accidental double-strum, wouldn't it have killed the Bass Groove?

The glowing blue screen suddenly going black would be a pretty big indicator.

I'm having all sorts of weird problems with logins, I don't know if thats related. Like, sometimes it'll auto-log me in. Sometimes I have to log into a solo tour, then back out to the main menu to have access to my profile. Sometimes if I log in with one instrument, I have to exit the game and reboot if I want to use a different instrument as band leader (ie, I'm drumming, then want to do a World Tour in multiplayer, and my band leader is on guitar)

I can't stand the menu system in this game, its just outright broken half the time

Yeup. I got this achievement last night on the Les Paul.

(I did it on "Maps", and it was so easy, I'm embarrassed to have the achievement. I'm going to keep going until I can do it on another song.)

I got it and I was using the wireless Les Paul at the time so up strums are recognized on it properly.

Same thing happened to me - all up strums, 100%, no achievement. I did it on the Les Paul though - wonder if that makes a difference?

Not if you accidentally downstrummed on a string of notes and actually hit one correctly. :)

I have PS3 and I got a flawless (1147 note streak) authentic strumming on Enter Sandman but obviously no achievement...

mississippi queen isn't a complex or fast enough song to have actually run into that sort of thing :)

i definitely upstrummed 100% of the notes, no question. if i had an accidental downstrum, then the upstrum i would have done to hit that same note would have killed the groove.

i dunno, i'll try again i guess.

i'm not sure if i have a mic stand. i know i have misc cymbal stands (i do own drums) so i guess i could duct tape the microphone to one of them. but ive been trying to bass/sing in a solo world tour :)

All I can do right now is up-strums, because my strum bar is broke and it only registers if you strum up, not if you strum down

i gave up on MQ but ended up unlocking the Flawless Groove on "I Think I'm Paranoid"
