View Full Version : Reviews Of Downloadable Content.
While I've not had the chance to check out any of the downloadable content myself (as my cable has been out in my dorm for the past few days), I was wondering if anyone has any links to reviews of the DLC for Rock Band, or have any comments of their own to share?
I've checked the search function, and can't find too many reviews available for anything other than the game itself.
Ideally, a good review would contain thoughts on song selection (however, this doesn't imply that this should be a wish-list thread), the actual covers, as well as their opinions about the note charts for specific/various instruments.
If I get a reasonable response, I'll try to clean up this post and update it.

Joker and the Thief is awesome.
I regret not getting Fortunate Son (we will eventually, no credits right now).
Bang a Gong is really easy to sing, but really fun.
Juke Box Hero...didn't blow me away, but we haven't played them very much yet.

Joker & The Thief is infact awesome - from the song to the note chart, definitely challenging.. Fortunate Son is a good cover in my opinion, and always a blast to play, not too hard but just a great song.. My Sharona - i mean how you can not like that song lol, no cake walk either, so it's a good choice.. The Metallica pack is a must, so much fun to play and challenging.. Juke Box Hero isn't ground breaking fun or difficult at all, but i like the song so you know

Joker & The Thief by Wolfmother is excellent, I agree. (I wish Wolfmother were any good live, because their CD is great.)
The 3-song Queens of the Stone Age pack is worthwhile, I think. Maybe I just haven't heard them much and was pleasantly surprised. I liked the guitar parts on all three, but I've only drummed "3s and 7s" so far.

Metallica pack is awesome, blows away that Enter Sandman crap and the challenge level is worthy of respect. Worth it just to hear Cliff's bass line on Ride the Lightning.

Love the Police pack. Great choice of songs. More Police please.
Metallica and Queens were enjoyable too. Only thing was the Bowie pack. I'd have MUCH rather have had other songs. Heroes was the only one I really liked and I wish I bought the single instead of the other songs..
I wish Wolfmother had more tunes, Joker was AWESOME. So much fun. Juke Box Hero was everything I wanted (Foreigner 4 was my first 8-track. Has sentimental memories).. and the T.Rex was awesome.
Still waiting for Who's Next.... grrrr. :D

The Bowie pack is good, and I thought the covers were alright. It's not quite Bowie but it isn't bad. Heroes is good, and I like Moonage Daydream. Queen ***** is decent.
Also love the Police pack. All three are great songs to play in every instrument available (I don't know about bass haven't tried that yet).
Metallica pack is great if you want to have a challenge. I'm not a huge Metallica fan so this was just alright to me, but I do enjoy the challenge. Blackened is my personal favorite of the bunch.
I wasn't too thrilled with Cherry Bomb, but it's there so if it shows up in BWT I'll play it but I don't really go out of my way to look for it like I do some of the other DLC.
The rest of the single songs are pretty good, but I'd give the nod to My Sharona and Fortunate Son as I find people enjoy those on every instrument more then the other songs.
Overall I've been impressed with the quality of the DLC and hope they keep it up on a weekly basis and it adds a lot to the game since it provides a lot more selection. I'm up to I guess it's 76 songs now to play, look forward to having a 100+ songs to choose from someday.
