He's right... not that i'm a big fan of anthrax but everyone knows they are part of the big 4. As for my vote, we'll i'm a huge megadeth fan so ya, but testament is pretty awsome too. ... I would love to play return to serenity or the legacy :)

when did lamb of god become thrash? arnt they still considered like semi-poppy death metal? (as pop as it death metal gets)

i dont see em as speed metal either.. speed metal (to me) is like power and progressive and thrash combined and played faster. like a popular example would be dragonforce. a lesser know and PRIME example would be cacophony. check out their album speed metal symphony. you will quickly learn what i categorize as speed metal.

lamb of god is to deathy for me to consider speed. by that i mean lots of crunchy rffs and growling vocals. speed generally has extremely fast melodic riffs and power like vocals.

i'd say melodic-death. but i refer to that (in most instances) as poppy* death. even though i prefer alot of melodic death/black over technical death/black.

* : poppy = n00b friendly.

and remember that song was made in the late 80's... beats the hell out of dragonforce and its over 17 years old. thats what i hafta say to the young "nay sayers" of ""classic"" music

I always considered thrash and speed metal pretty closely related, at least in the late 80s/early 90s when that was my thing. The difference to me was that thrash had more punk influenced vocal stylings mixed in with the occasional metal scream whereas speed metal had more typical big metal singing and perhaps a teeny bit more technical guitar riffage.

In any event, since I am coming out of the woodwork on this one, I voted for Death Angel a few days ago but I think the thrash band I'd most love to see is Forbidden.
