Someone was talking about how you can take off the pads and tighten some screws and whatnot on the drum set and fix it completely...anyone have a link or know how to do this? I'm not even sure whether this voids the warranty or not, but my drums are starting to tick me off. Basically, what I'm looking for here is a step-by-step walkthrough on how to fix your drum set. Any help would be appreciated.

Its easy....the drums are being held in by four rubber bolts that are slightly wider at the end...you can see them in the holes underneath the drum tray. if you press down on the drum pad, you'll see them actually press through. It's what gives your pads that extra bounce.
Carefully put your hands between the tray and the pad, getting as close to the knobs as possible and pull up. The knobs will give way and squeeze through the holes...use a blunt object to help push them through if you have problems. Make sure you do it slowly and carefully for each knob.
After you get the drum pad off, you'll either see
A: a wire thats connected directly into the tray from the drum pad...OR...
B: you will see that the pad is plugged into the tray via a white jumper
If it's B, unplug and re-plug the jumper back in and make sure it's snug.
If it's A, someone said that they noticed where it was soldered to the drum pad..it was loose, so do something to improve the connection.
Thats the key..make sure there are no loose connections from the pad to the drum tray.
Once you do that, snap the pad back on and test your drums...use The Who song, Won't Get Fooled Again...since it has no instruments for like the first minute of the song.
I dont think it would void your warranty...you're not modding it or anything. I read an article where a Harmonix employee suggested putting a towel between the pad and the tray to help dampen the sound.

Interesting. Have you tried this? Has anyone had any success with this?

Alright, so I took off the pads. As far as the wires that were connected directly into the set go...there was absolutely nothing I could do. All that was visible was just a wire, that's it. But on the other two pads I unplugged the jumpers and plugged them back in. We'll see if that makes a difference. I doubt the red and green pad (the two that I couldn't do anything to) will change, and they were both working horribly..but it would be nice if the yellow and blue work better.
Is this the only fix? Looks like this was all that's possible to really do though...

Here's my breakdown of the drums. Some really handy information, though if you don't want to click; it seems the problem is crappy wiring. It sucks but there's no quick fix for it, and no guarantee a replacement will fix things either at the present time.

I don't agree that there's no quick fix...I messed with with wiring myself and it's almost 100% fully functional.
