I was wondering if anybody had any ideas about how to enforce the bass pedal or just prevent it from snapping. It's probably the thing I worry about the most in Rock Band...

Or any ways to easily and effectively fix it

one thing a lot of people bang on it, you only have to easily force it down! a great tip: lay your foot down on the pedal and bring it up then down for each pedal note, its easier and doesnt hurt your foot! another tip: dont wear your shoes, it feels better and the pedal will stay hold a lot longer!

there are a few posts, i think on the first page, one is about buying something on ebay, which is a metal pedal cover...get ideas from there.. and further down in the post is a link to do it yourself...

Sorry but there is no way to be gentle on the bass pedal on quick songs above medium difficulty. I use the heel up method without shoes. I keep my foot right where the sping attaches to the pedal and have not broken it yet. I think it is all about foot placement.

If you just press down with the ball of your foot where the orange line is, you should relieve most of the stress on the mechanism, I would think. If you try to press with your heel I can see it breaking pretty easily.

I use this method as well, trying to keep my pressure directly over the spring, rather than above or below it, where you're forcing the plastic to absorb some of the force you really want on the spring. I've also noticed on some pictures of broken pedals that the break originates from one side, like the user had their foot more to one side or the other, rather than in the middle. Not deflecting any of the blame off EA though, for not making a more structurally sound pedal that can absorb the type of punishment expected from Hard or Expert songs. To me, they really should have taken the pedal durability into account when designing the beat patterns in the game.

This is probably the best advice given hands down! :D

Here's a post with a quick and easy bass pedal reinforcement.

No matter how soft you are on it, it will break eventually... all you have to do is press it with your hand and see how the plastic flexes from just that little bit of weight.

So if it does break lets say about 6 months from now do you think they will sell new ones to buy so you don't have to buy the entire drum set? It will be out of warrenty in 60 day's.

I posted this in another thread but here is what I did. Basically I laminated two pieces of wood with epoxy. Once that was dry I epoxied the wood along with a layer of fiberglass cloth to the bass pedal. Then I used a "sticky" sandpaper on the wood for grip. The pedal now has no flex, it also has a more solid, heavier feel. Not pretty but it works for me.

Here are some pics...not a work of art but tough as nails http://community.rockband.com/vbforu...1&d=1196307934

I have that on my gas pedal in my car. Might have to take it off and try it on my kick pedal.

Just fixed my second broken pedal, epoxy, and a flat L bracket.
It will do till I have time for the diamond plate repair.
