View Full Version : strum bar stuck in "strum up" position randomly

I've now had this problem with 2 guitars. Bought a replacement for the first one already. Every 5th or 6th strum up results in the system thinking the strum is stuck in the up position. This is easiest to tell during the song selection screen where it just rapidly scrolls up. This makes strumming repeatedly up impossible when you hit a "stuck" point as strums will not register until you strum down to "reset" the bar. At first I thought this might just be random, but now after the second guitar messing up, I am wondering if there might be something I might be doing wrong. It may or may not matter but both problem guitars were used by a bassist that exclusively strums up for most songs. Unfortunately I haven't got the receipts for the guitars to returning is not an option. I could go buy yet another one, but if the same problem happens again, it could get very expensive in the long run. Looking for any advice on a possible fix please.

You could try taking the back off the guitar and seeing if there's anything amiss inside. Check out Scorehero or Doc_Socal's mods forum, lot's of info on how to mod.
Failing that, I'd recommend the ByteArts strum replacement, works like a charm. Way less than a new guitar. This is assuming the issue with the upstrum has to do with the stock strum sensors. If it's the board, the strum fix won't help.
