RB2 Wireless Drum set Sync Issue

I just bought the RB2 wireless drum set and i cannot get it to connect. But if i put the pads right next to the Xbox it will sync but then when i pull them away they disconnect. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or knows a possible solution.

You might be getting interference from other devices. Do you have a wireless router/access point or a cordless phone in very close proximity?

I have a wireless router, but i have unplugged that and tried to re sync with no success. I also moved the xbox to the middle of the room to make sure there was no interference from the tv or stereo.
