I will try my best to keep it short. :p
I am on a PS3 80GB. I started playing RB and RB2 and purchased most of my add-ons on my old 40GB. We were having issues with it; being out of warranty we opted to buy a new PS3 80GB. We kept our online ID and username info the same. I accessed my account history including all of my downloads. I downloaded and installed all of our add-ons and after I entered the rock band store via the game, I then made a few more new purchases. (now i have 96 RB downloads in total).
Now the problem is when I went to play the downloaded songs in the quick-play solo band option, selecting the song(:)all the downloads were listed), and then entering the loading screen it stops and pops up with an error message. The message in summary states(not quoting it though), "the song you were accessing has become unavailable. The game cannot proceed without it. You will be restarted" Then it kicks you to the main menu screen.
I have spent the past week on the phone going back and forth between the tech. supports for sony and EA. Only for one to tell me its the others ones problem. :mad: I have deleted all RB2 and RB files several times over including all of the downloads. I went back on my 40GB de-activated it and checked to make sure the 80GB is activated. I thought it might be a issue with the older add-ons. I also made brand new purchases that didn't work either, so that can't be it. Short of completely restoring both systems I am not sure how to proceed. I want to try and avoid that.
I tried downloading one of the new purchased songs on my old 40GB and it worked just fine.
My biggest concern is that I have spent a lot of money of this additional content and I should be able to access it if I upgraded my system, if they are listed on my download list.
HELP PLEASE!

Make sure the game is on the latest patch.
I'd try downloading one song and seeing if it works.

Yeah, I've tried that. I downloaded a new one. Didn't work. Erased it and then I tried a older one. Didn't work. Thanks for the post though. :D

Do you have the latest patch, though? Can you play online (like score duel)?

I am not sure what you mean by the term "patch"...sorry:confused:. But i tried playing online. (score duel & tug of war) I could get on just fine. The few downloaded songs I have on there never got selected, so the standard songs played just fine. Should I re-download more and try to select them? Would they really play online but not in quick-play? That would be stupid if they did....:p

I suggested playing online because you can't play online at all without the last patch. Thus, if you can play online, we can rule out you not having the latest patch.
I don't really know enough about the PS3 system to be of much more help.

Way out of my depth here, I'd suggest using the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page, reference this thread too. This should put you in touch with someone from HMX who will at least be able to get the ball rolling in the correct direction.

Unfortunately I've already done that. They replied a few days later stating they didn't have any information for me at this time. They suggested I go on here. I've now exhausted any assistance from sony, EA, and Harmonix. I am still extremely frustrated with all of them.:mad: Y'all have been lots of help and I appreciate y'all giving me suggestions.:D I am close to considering that it might be the hardware itself. I plan on calling Sony again sometime today. See what they say. I haven't been on rockband in months...I am starting to feel withdraws :rolleyes: LOL
