Hardcore music... not many people like it, and fewer can perform the vocals in the songs. Most of the music I listen to is hardcore and I am a hardcore screamer but I dont think they will put it in the game because no one can sing it... I think it would be awesome for the game to include on song from a hardcore band... What are your thoughts???

I don't think it will be an issue to scream into the mic. Just go on to any popular xbox live game.

I can stand that kinda music, and neither can a lot of other people. That's why they probably wont include any.
BUT there is downloadable content coming sometime after release. I think they will have tracks more specific to certain genres that wouldn't work in the normal release.

They had Every Time I Die as a bonus song in GHII, so I'm hoping there's at least a couple hardcore songs in RB. Maybe some Bane, Poison The Well, Eighteen Visions, Hatebreed, Throwdown, Dillinger Escape Plan, etc. would all be nice!

yeah... but thats only guitar... im talking about the vocals
and sa_nick: thats what i said in the first post... and just because you dont like it doesnt mean no one does... if they really want to max out their profits then they should at least include one or two

I'm not sure exactly how hardcore your talking about here but if any screamo songs made it into the game I'd probably end up playing it all the way through once and thats it. If I had to play it a few more times to 5 star it I would have to mute the track completely and just play by watching the notes come down the screen.

I doubt you know what screamo is. It's totally different than what hardcore is, and in the screamo I listen to, there is virtually no "screaming" (cept Saetia...). Hardcore punk would be nice, and even some new school hardcore would be awesome. I'm talking Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Refused, Hot Cross, Snapcase... and there's not really "screaming" in any of those (unless you consider Refused and Snapcase to be screaming, which I don't). Of course, I probably wouldn't play the vocals on any of those songs anyway, unless they were kick ass, like New Noise or Holiday in Cambodia. But you're probably talking newer hardcore, so I'm done.

Wait, wait, wait... there's no screaming in screamo music?... That doesn't sound right... Also when I mentioned hardcore I wasn't refering to the genre, but the level of intensity of the song.
If I had more than 50MB of downloads until my internet runs out for this month I'd go and listen to the bands mentioned in this thread... Give me til the 18th, then I'll be up and running at full speed once more!

Well no doubt there is screaming, but it is not on the level of most hardcore, metalcore, emocore, even a lot of metal. Of all of those, screamo has the smallest screaming aspect, and out of all music with screaming in it, screamo is the most mellow.

They will probably have a few hardcore songs on there, so it pleases everybody, and doesnt just appeal to the minority.

No offense man, but how does everyone who doesn't like hardcore constitute the "minority".

Man,Just cause you dont like it,doesnt mean nobody likes it.I wouldnt doubt if they had more than 1-2 songs.Half the people I see playing guitar hero 1 and 2 are the guys who actually listen to hardcore and screamo music.

my concern isn't really for the hardcore genre really but pretty much the same thing for death metal. cause i enjoy me some death metal guitaring and drumming (which is a totally different problem we wont speak of) and i would love to see some return of lamb of god or some children of bodom or arch enemy. stuff like that would be sweet!

Okay, yeah a lot of that stuff isn't as crazy as I thought it'd be. From what people have said in several threads throughout this forum there seems to be a difference in opinion in what genres songs fall into. Maybe a geographical thing?

what do you mean by a geographical thing

I live in Adelaide in South Australia, I can imagine that the perception that my friends and I have of band genres could be different to that of other people living in the U.S. or U.K. or where ever.
I spose everone has different perception of genres. I love Nine Inch Nails and Tool, but I know a lot of people who say they can't stand how crazy they are, when really a lot of their songs are pretty mild in comparison with many (sub genre here)-metal bands.

This is a game for families though, and while they will try to make everyone happy, dont expect to see any hardcore songs in the main track list. I can almost guareentee you will see something in bonus tracks or eventual DLC that will make you happy.
