I just found this funny, you may not, but the short little article is talking about how the Recession is apparently helping to boost McDonald's Sales.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29097674/
The part I find funny is the following quote, and I understand that the CEO is not going to make disparaging remarks, but how can you hold a straight face while saying this:
"McDonald's continues to appeal to customers as we offer high quality, affordable meal options and unparalleled convenience," Chief Executive Jim Skinner said in a statement.

Here's a statement from every CEO in charge of a company that provides goods or services:
"[Company Name] continues to appeal to customers as we offer high quality, affordable [good or service] and amazing customer service"
I know this, because that's pretty much the exact statement that our office received from our Owner.

Well if you leave out the "High Quality" part of the statement, I could see it holding up, but come on... high quality and McD's just don't go together!

I don't see what's wrong with his statement, because at the end of the day you or I really don't necessarily know how good or bad the product actually is.
... and it's not like he's going to come out and say, "Yeah, cheap crap food works in a faltering economy."

I'm mildly frightened thinking about how many of those I ate as a child, before they had... *gulp* standards. :(

I would say if you're old enough to remember commercials like this:

It's pretty safe to say you ate some pretty disgusting (albeit delicious) stuff. There's probably more nutrition in those little plastic mcnuggets playing basketball than there were in the actual chicken mcnuggets.
