K, i live in canada and have been trying to get my fingers on rock band since it came out in USA... im just right across the border but everywhere i go, its sold out, or theres a waiting list a mile long. Im sorry to say but I think harmonix failed to keep with demand. And after talking to many stores, they all said the same thing. Yeah well we were limited to a total of 10. So basically its impossible to buy unless uve been on the waiting list since the beginning of november.. great.. bloody great..

any other comments?

Yeah, you should have gone out when it was released. They've been saying for months the initial release would be small. No pity from me.

There have been tons of reports from HMX saying that they wouldn't have enough to meet demand at launch. That's why pre-orders were invented.

QQ much?

Best bet at this point I think is to get on a waiting list up here and pray they actually send us some on the 20th.

Unfortunately, pre-ordering doesn't guarantee you a copy. GameStop has screwed me over several times by ordering short. For this one, I actually went to the midnight launch at Best Buy. I was 15th in line at 9 p.m. and by midnight there was over 200 people there.

You can always try eBay - there were a ton of sets up there last week which means the price won't be outrageous yet.

If you're willing to pay extra there are plenty of people on ebay selling it. Some have even broken the bundle up and are selling the instruments separately for more then the cost of the deluxe bundle with all the instruments. I hate that people can do this but its an option if you just have to get one. I was lucky enough to get the last one at my local Target the day it came out. Every other store was sold out.

Mine is 3 day old and my drums bass pedal has already cracked.

It seems to be pretty common, drums also seem to have a problem reading realy fast hits.

Also a majority of the expert guitarists say the guitar that comes witht he game is all but junk. They all use their guitar hero guitars.

So you really aren't missing much, we seem to be paying beta testers of very poor quality hardware.

Just go look at the tech forum and you wont feel so bad.

Same thing is true of GHIII (at least up here in Canada). I had to end up ordering it online from EBGames in the US. These games are popular, and having custom hardware means supplies can't be as high as with disc only games.

I got a copy of the game by itself from Amazon.ca. I already had a pre-order from Rock Band Store for the bundle, but I cancelled it after hearing about all these defective instruments. I'd rather buy it from Best Buy and get a 3 year Replacement Plan then use the 60 day manufacturer's warranty.

My Wal-Mart has at least 20 of them. Try to check in less thought of stores (i.e not Gamestop). Wal-Mart, Target, Ma and Pa Game shops, etc.

I got mine at a local WalMart that hand't even put it out on the shelves yet. :)
