You know it would be good.
Suggestion:
Dare to be Stupid (majority of the keyboard part being guitar)
It's All About the Pentiums
Albuquerque

Gotta have Smells Like Nirvana that parody hit the nail on the head. Love that song.
Also, could have Canadian Idiot, Bedrock Anthem as well as many others.
In short, I would love a Weird Al pack.

It would be fun to sing. It would be like the lyrics I normally sing to songs I don't know on RB.

I think it would be fun. Wasn't a big fan of Canadian Idiot tbh. Its just American Idiot part 2. Weird Al has no business getting political
I'm not sure a direct parody should be done regardless -- its essentially the same music as the original. The polkas are sort of an exception, but I'm not sure how many Rock Band players would be willing to sit through one of those :)
He's done a bunch of style parodies, like the Mr Popeil song doing the B52's, or Close But No Cigar doing Cake. One of those might be a better choice. He's done a lot of original stuff too. Albuquerque would indeed be a marathon song, and I gotta be honest, after several beverages of the adult variety, I'd probably make a grab for the microphone.
I made a similar thread yesterday about "fun" songs.. http://community.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=11999
I still think Little Mac's Confession would be fun as sh*t.

YES! What about trash day, couch potato, fat, Definitely Canadian idiot, it would be a blast to have Al on board.
EVEN WITH ONLY ONE GUITAR TO PLAY WITH...

Agreed with Brew... if you are gonna have Weird Al, you've got to go with the style parodies. The only problem is finding ones that would sell in large amounts...

Well if you guys are looking for style parodies here are some good ones I thought of:
Young, Dumb, & Ugly (AC/DC Style)
Callin In Sick (Nirvana Style)
I'll Sue Ya (Rage Against The Machine Style)
There are more but these are the ones I would want. Though, one thing to consider is that the style parodies do contain parts of songs by that artist. For example, Callin In Sick very clearly sounds like Come As You Are and Lithium. Something to consider.

back to the original poster.. Dare to be Stupid really would be a ton of fun. The main part would be a Keytar :)
I had a link to the DtbS video on youtube in my signature on another forum for awhile

I'd perfer these to any Weird Al parodies. If we get a parody, most of the time, it's just better to get the original (and the few exceptions, like White & Nerdy, just don't fit in Rock Band). But originals and style parodies are perfectly fine in my book. Hell, just I'll Sue Ya would be fine!

I am cool with either quite frankly. For instance, if we got Smells Like Nirvana that doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy Smells Like Teen Spirit as well.

I would download every Weird Al Song they posted. I've been hoping for Weird Al music in a Guitar Game since Guitar Hero first came out.
White and Nerdy was the number one song on iTunes for like a month when it shipped....surely there's a market for some of his catalog. My suggestions:
Originals that rock:
I'll Sue Ya
Hardware Store (One of my favorite songs of all time)
I was only kidding
Trigger Happy
Melanie
Bob
Callin in Sick
I Remember Larry
She never told me she was a mime
Young Dumb and Ugly
Albuquerque Because singing that would be the most awesome thing in the universe.
Parodies that would be really fun to play:
Gump (Presidents parody).
Canadian Idiot (Green Day)
A Complicated Song (Complicated by Avril Lavigne )
The Saga Begins (American Pie by Don Mclean)
The Angry White Boy Polka (various alternative artists)
The Alternative Polka (more alternative artists)
Bedrock Anthem (RHCP)
Livin in the Fridge (Aerosmith)
I want a new Duck (Huey Lewis)
Ebay (Backstreet Boys)
Smells Like Nirvana (Too awesome for words)
Eat it (For the old schoolers)
Yoda. Does this really need an explanation?

Good list, but how would they do polkas in Rock Band?

Good list, but how would they do polkas in Rock Band?
I was wondering if anyone would ask me that....because I actually thought about it while listening to my favorite Weird Al songs while typing up that list, then wondering if there was any way to do one of his Polkas.
In my mind, primarily, they'd be bass, drum and singing focused songs. I figure the lead guitar could be the Banjo for parts of the songs I listed. For the rest of the time, I imagine there would be a lot of held notes (simulating the accordion) as well as shorter notes that simulated the sound effects and horns. When you go to a live concert Weird Al, Jim West (the guitar player for the band) still has a part. He usually plays a banjo and several other instruments that accent the song....so I could see that transferring over to Rock Band.
I realize that we probably wouldn't get any of the polkas in the first song pack....but I'm also willing to bet a Weird Al song pack would be a good seller for EA, which might eventually lead to more, which might eventually lead to POLKA! :)
Weird Al covers almost all the genres represented here. What other artist has rock, pop, metal, grunge, rap, country, top 40, R&B, swing and polka songs in their catalog? A Weird AL pack could appeal to just about any music fan (cause let's face it....deep down, I think most people probably like the guy.) :D

Very nicely done; would love to see it in Rock Band so much.

Albequerque and Yoda would be fun songs to play, at least on vocals. And I'd love to rock "Genius in France" on the guitar. So yeah, consider me on the Weird Al DLC bandwagon!
