*scratches head*

so here I am again, another night waiting. waiting. and waiting some freakin' more.

once in awhile I get 'em. other people I mean. but it sure damned well taking forever just to stumble on another soul playing this game online.

So I give it about 10 minutes searching for "players".

no one is on again. AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH.

anybody else having this problem?

does the 360 Rockers suffer the same fate? (I highly doubt it myself)

PS:

I hate you 360 owners. I hate you so much.

I get lucky more often with the drums than anything else.

how's the singing online anyways? I haven't seen anyone play it yet.

(also: anyone up for a game of drums my user name is Aeromarine/Wolfman Joe)

That is what I figured, is that most poeple played drums. That is what I want to be playing, but I can't do it at our apartment without getting a noise complaint.

Well I just got the game, so gimme a few days, and sure, I'll be playing online.

So long as us Aussies can play with you guys, at any rate. There'll be a lot more people playing online when the game's available worldwide.

I think there are a lot of people that are still in the learning process and don't want to make a fool of themselves online. Then, there are people like me how are going to open their game for Christmas. So I figure after Christmas we will see quite a lot of people going online.

YES sir your correct..after christmas is when online will open up a bit. I have probably played 4 songs total online through about 2 hours total of waiting. i think im just going to play call of duty 4 online til X-mas. NO ONE IS EVER ON! PS3 users add me! my user name is: bojimenez8

p.s. TREOROCK - where can i get one of those cool screen saver looking things. with the total ps3 games played and singer and currently playing.

I haven't encountered a problem finding somebody(ies) to play with on Live. Then again atleast 10 people on my FL has the game so it's easier to get a good game going. Is ps3 still alive?

Now I just need to figure out how I host.

I've been playing the last few nights between 9 and 12 EST and have good luck finding a full band.

Someone said something about hogging lead, can you give someone else lead, and how?

Dude, your playing drums right? So is everybody else? So there are a million drummer looking for bands. Give guitar or vocals a shot online. Quicker matches.

This is one reason why I'm not playing online. I can only play on medium with any instrument (maybe bass on hard for most songs). What I don't need is people telling me I suck, I already know that :p

Oh, and I'm a ps3 gamer as well. At the Game Stop midnight event I was the only PS3 RB person there, all the others were 360's. I just figured it was because they finally were able to get something other then a cut and paste FPS game ;) (j/k but I'm tired of all the FPS games coming out this year)

I don't play online with the PS3 version, but I have noticed that there's not a lot of entries on the scoreboards, especially once you get past the first few songs in BWT, where it drops off like a cliff (some songs only have something like 200 total scores).

Of course, not entirely unexpected after hearing stories such as one store (for example) getting 100 copies of the 360 version and 15 of the PS3.

I tried goin online a few nights ago (when at least upstroke worked ont he guitar), and got in with 2 or 3 people. The singer kept failing out and 1/2 way through the 2nd song I was the only guy left, everybody bailed. Shortly after that the guitar totally failed.

If you're wondering why it's all drum players on-line, it's because all the guitars are broken. I think once we get our freaking fixed guitars, you'll see more people on line.

I have 4 guitars, 3 xplorers and 1 RB guitar. I think a good % of people have both guitars so why aren't they using their other guitar?

I haven't had much problem finding pick up games of Rock Band on the 360 version. There's a lot smaller user base for the PS3 so that's probably why you aren't finding games easily.

I play quite a bit of score duel and band quick play online. Never have any issues finding matches. I would imagine my maximum wait time has been around 45 seconds. Not too bad. I have an X360.

I've actually had little-to-no problem finding people to play with online on the PS3. Sometimes it's been a full band of four, but more often it's been a three-piece, but still enough to have a decent jam.

I don't know whether it's harder to find people for certain instruments, or what: since my guitar broke, I've been playing vocals mostly, and I tend to get pulled into a band pretty quickly.

The competitive modes I haven't had any luck finding anyone, ever.

Another thing to consider is that people may be figuring out better ways to plan band hook-ups online rather than just hoping for a random session. Try addign a bunch of RB friends to your friend list and using the invite system to coordinate sessions or figure out times when you all can play.

Please note the title of the thread you just posted in. PS3's don't have explorers, they have GH3 controllers that don't work with RB, and RB Strats that are very much broken.:(

I have the PS3 version and I play on-line almost every night doing vocals. I can't play drums as I totally suck at it. I can't play guitar because mine is on its way back to EA for replacement.

I have been wanting to play Tug of War or the Points Face Off but there never seems to be another vocalist willing to play. I've waited and waited and nobody enters.

One thing I've noticed as of late is that it appears a lot of people are trying to play beyond their abilities and of course, fail out on a song. PLEASE, if you haven't mastered Hard or Expert, don't ruin everyone's fun by bombing because you haven't mastered that song yet.

One last thing that's a bit of a gripe of mine from a singer's standpoint: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE have a little consideration for your singer. In other words, do not pick songs like Roxanne, I'm so Sick, Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Ballroom Blitz or Run to the Hills back to back to back. These are high register songs (and probably even worse for the male singers out there) and you are killing our vocal cords. Give us a lower register song in-between so our voices can "rest" a little before trying to kill us off!

I haven't had any trouble finding other players in Band Quick Play mode online on my PS3.

I do mostly play guitar and I think there may be something to the theory that there are a lot of drummers looking to play and it may be tougher for them to find online bands.

Aside from the inability to communicate with fellow online players, I have found the PS3 online band experience to be a blast.

I have a similar gripe--not about the high-register songs (I just drop an octave), but about the selection of songs by the non-singers.

All you guys who love to play Enter, Sandman should realize that the vocalist does NOTHING for two-thirds of the song. That's the most obvious example, but there are others where the vocalist really gets the shaft almost as badly as the Bassist. Think a little about the song when you pick, because all four of the people in your group want to play.

To me, this is where the game really needs a chat function--in this game, Guitarist, Bassist, and Drummer can all get away with not knowing the song. When I'm on Vocals and a song comes up that I don't know very well, I have to step down to Easy mode while I feel my way through it. There should be some way for the Vocalist to signal "Preferred" songs, "Acceptable" songs, and "God, please don't make me sing this" songs.

I do agree about watching song choice for vocals. Picking GGHT just makes the vocalist want to quit. Show some love for the singers as there aren't as many of them anyway!

:D:D:D:

I usually sing on hard but if it's a song I don't know I'll either drop out or attempt it on easy.

The two worst throat busters for me are Run to the Hills and I'm So Sick. I could either drop down an octave or go into falsetto but where's the fun in that????

:D Great, even the pretend lead singers are wanting everything THIER way already... :p

Actually, good points on the songs. I never thought of it, but just singing the few times I have it's pretty hard. Maps would be a good one to rest up on I think..

I'm sorry to hear everyone's problems. as for me, I play online full band nearly every night. It is usually me and my wife, with her on guitar and me singing. I never have problems finding ppl for some reason. within 30 seconds the empty slots are usually filled. As for everyones level of skill, that always ranges, but its not a big deal since everyone can pick their own level of difficutly to play on. For ppl having problems getting into online games, i recommend this:

1) switch modes, theres more than one mode, give each a shot now and again

2) play a different instrument. if you can't find anyone when you want to play drums, try doing some singing or playing a guitar part.

Finally, to those that are "afraid of making a fool of themselves remember this.....you cant hear the singing over the net, just the original vocals. You can pick your level of difficulty. Who cares if that guy on guitar picks expert, go ahead an sing on easy, no one will care. And lastly, there is no way to communicate to eachother online so you have ABSOLUTELY no reason to worry about people putting you down ( though this last part I do think is a major problem with the online part of the game....put in a communication option pls HMX!)

one last note: a lot of you guys seem to be afraid to sing. I really recommend you give it a shot online, I bet you'll find it very enjoyable (as i have) who cares if you don't know a song, singing it is the best way to learn it, plus you can always hum the parts you dont know ;)

There are only so many topics worth posting in, and you and I appear to have the same taste in topics, if not consoles. Heh heh.

And you can voice chat on the PS3...just not in-game. PSN is integrated pretty well into the game (invites, etc.) but some more of the OS features should be added (voice chat, players met).

Besides, next year, I'll be using the features of Home to mock 360 users...

It's a lot better on all fronts than it was this time last year. Unfortunately, they couldn't afford to wait another year given the roll-outs of the other consoles from this generation.

And yeah, I said "this time next year" for Home, because I'll trust the April roll-out when I see it. I'm expecting something more like a September roll-out, but mostly so I can be pleasantly surprised when they beat that.

The game is sold out everywhere, there's much more people wanting the game than people having the game. The fact that the game is only available in the US doesn't help either.
