Do they go up when a game sells very well? Or perhaps there's a nice bonus check in store for great sales? There's no hidden motives for asking, I just thought about it and wondered if there's some kind of financial incentive your higher-ups give you for making awesome games.

Well, keeping the company from going out of business is always a good incentive to work well. But I'm sure they get bonuses too, most small companies have some form of profit sharing with their employees.
