Help with the talky parts

Does anyone know if there is a trick to these? I do fine in the singing parts, plenty of 'awesome' and 'strong', but always get 'messy' or 'ok' in the talky parts. Thanks!

You have to make sure you are begining and ending the parts exactly on time. Don't stop early and don't start early. That's the best way I can describe it.

I've found that there's a hint of lag for the vocals even when the rest of the instruments are synched up perfectly, and that leads to the situation you describe - When I do vocals solo I adjust the lag calibration and like magic I'm nailing the talky parts, but it makes the instruments unplayable if you don't switch it back. I've started trying to be a little ahead of the song and that's helped a lot.
