Band Leader Question?

I am playing BWT and am pretty far, I want to continue but my band leader has the Guitar as his instrument choice. My Guitar does not work very well on harder levels, I am waiting for my new one. So there is no way to play without him being in the band correct? He has to be the leader and play the Guitar correct? I want to make sure I am not missing something and can play with him on drums. Otherwise I will have to wait to play BWT when I get my new guitar. My old one still works on easy but when it goes to Med, it won't hold the notes. I wish that when HMX sends you a new one they would let you keep and smash the old on like they do on stage that would be cool.... :D I wonder what they will do with my old one?

Sorry you can't change instruments. The only thing you could do is start a new band and make the drummer the leader.

Yes, everyone experiences this, because it is how it is intended to work. It's not a bug, it's a design decision.

I agree that it sucks that you always have to have the same character playing the same instrument in the band, but that's the way they coded it.

Remember you are only talented enough to play one instrument. Harmonix does not feel you should be able to play more then one instrument with the same character.

Just for the sake of doing it, we should be able to.

Last weekend, my friends each created their character. Since my LP doesn't work on the PS3 version, we were only 3 playing, but were 8 playing the game. All of us played every intruments, just for the fun of it. It sucked that we weren't able to use our character when playing on our second or third instrument.

Really, it's only a game. It wouldn't change much things if you could make the drummer a guitarist. In game animations can already support that, we only need the option to do it. Not much work, but it would be cool.

Agreed. I get the simulation aspect, but the band leader should be defined, in game context anyway, as the creator of the band, the human player. For Xbox players, this would be the user under whose GamerTag the band was created.

If I want to drum while my wife sings, it should be my prerogative to do so, particularly in BWT so that both of our custom characters can earn the cash and the band can progress without requiring someone to be on lead guitar (the band leader was defined under the lead guitarist). And if we want to switch out and both play guitar/bass, that should be possible too without creating another band and starting from scratch.

Aside from the forked up guitar issues of late, this is probably my biggest complaint since launch.
