Can anyone confirm whether or not bluetooth headsets work as mics on the PS3 version? Searched, and didn't see any answers. Asking purely about singing, not chat (I know chat doesn't work).

Do0d I don't think so...itz true that the controllers are bluetooth and it detects those, but I don't think that the headseat will work the same way. Mainly coz it isn't a sony or harmonix product or USB.

Based on the way the PS3 OS handles Bluetooth, there really is no reason why RB shouldn't be able to see it as a mic if they choose to: the PS3 lists my Bluetooth headset, my Playstation Eye and my RB Mic all on the same systems menu--any of them can be used for the chat function.

Maybe there was a problem with lag, or something, so they left it out.

I never know what to expect on PS3. I have two multiplayer games being Warhawk and Kane and Lynch. Warhawk obviously works because it came with the bluetooth headset, but Kane and Lynch doesn't oddly and I seriously don't know why. I'm not sure which PS3 games support it.

Just popping this back to the front page. Has anyone actually confirmed that they do or do not work? I know they *should* work. I just want to know if they actually do.

I tried it with Jabra and it didn't work. Not only did it not work, RB doesn't recognize it although I'm positive it's connected to PS3. No mistake on my part since i use jabra in other games.

Crap. I was afraid of that. Yeah, I have a jabra too. Damn. One more thing to add to the list of things Harmonix needs to fix for the PS3. I can't believe something that fundamental would be left out. It IS a mic, after all.

So your intentions are to sing with a bluetooth headset? If so I think that was left out intentionally as the quality would be crap.

I've spoken to many people via Bluetooth and the quality has been very, very good. I can't imagine it would somehow be worse to use it for singing unless the dynamic range of the mic and the transmission is extremely narrow.

Dynamic range is the problem. Then again it is a game and no one will win any grammys with it so why not i guess.

Given that there are bluetooth (music) headphones out there, it's obvious that bluetooth is not inherently incapable of quality sound transmission.

Regardless of the availability of quality bluetooth microphones, the fact that they are microphones which are detected by the PS3 is all Rock Band should care about.

The system doesn't stop you from using a $3 crappy USB mic, there's no reason it should stop you from using a $20 crappy bluetooth mic.
